REGARDING:
“If only we could make the world over like Mayberry. What a great world it would be.”
Can I be Goober?
David with aspirations
David I have a 4 disk set of the show. In the episode Barney’s New Car, I think is the title, Barney buys a used car from an elderly lady (Ellen Corbin) and as it turn out she is the leader of a car theft ring. When they uncover the garage the ring is operating out of, Andy says “Barney put your bullet in your gun”. The only time I ever heard Andy instruct Barney to do such.
If only we could make the world over like Mayberry. What a great world it would be.
REGARDING:
“I will always remember “Barney put your bullet in your gun”. ”
I don’t remember him ever instructing Barney to put it in, rather reminding him to keep it out.
David with fond memories of good entertainer
We lost the greatest actor and singer. He entertained us everyday on the Andy Griffith show. I just wish we had more shows like that today. Now he is in Heaven with the rest of the Andy Griffith Show cast.
Rest in Peace Mr. Andy Griffith, you will be truly missed by everyone. My thoughts and prayers to the family.
He was my most favorite actor in T.V. He was great on screen and the most awesome singer. He will be greatly missed. He is in Heaven with the rest of the Andy Griffith Show. My thoughts and prayers go oiut to the family.
RIP Mr Andy Griffith, you will be truly missed by all.
He will be so missed…always had a good family show and one of my favorite actors.
One of my fondest memories was watching the beginning of the “Andy Griffith” Show and trying to out whistle my granddad. And, I’d sit on the floor beside him eating old time molasses cookies and watching the show. It’s like I lost a little piece of my childhood with his death. My granddad use to love watching Matlock too. A truly great man has been loss.
I grew up around watching him…its however fortunate that hes in heaven with my mom and now they both can RIP,and much love!
grew up looking at his snow’s, and still looking at Andy Griffith today, he will me missed but not forgotten.
The World has lost a little more of her shine today.
One of TVS most loved entertainer. I remember growing up watching this great man on Andy Griffith and Matlock. I loved anything he played in; this man could play the guitar, sing and act. Truly a great man whom we shall miss RIP.
Andy Griffith made a huge impact on my life as a young girl who thought how great it would be to live in Mayberry, USA as I am I sure many of us did! My dad ( who passed away last year) loved him dearly and still as I watch any re-run of “Andy Griffith” I think of him! You will be forever missed Andy and I know Heaven awaits!!!
I hop tv land dus a tribute marathon for him and his memre
My husband buys the Andy Griffith Show on dvd…season series. Loved Andy and also Matlock was a favorite of mine. He will be missed.
May his family find peace and strength during this time.
Andy Griffith Show – 6:30 every week night – channel 5 – has been a favorite at our house for years. I think we have probably all learned a few valuable lessons from watching Andy and how he handled situations. My personal favorite was when Opie thought he would try throwing a temper tantrum. Andy’s reaction to that was priceless.
Another movie he starred in was “No Time for Sergeants”. Will never forget the scene where he had the toilet seats standing at attention. A great American and a great man. Rest in Peace Andy!.
The front porch lights in Mayberry will be a little dimmer tonight.
Andy and Johnny Cash movie was ‘Murder in Coweta county’, not a small killing.
dang! nothing sure but death and taxes.
A face in the crowd was excellent. Mr Griffith could play the bad guy. I loved him and Johnny Cash in the movie A Small Killing.
I will always remember “Barney put your bullet in your gun”. Andy and Mayberry, nice people in a nice place to live, maybe to spend eternity.
If you want to see him as a strong actor rent a copy of a movie he did years ago—”A Face In The Crowd”. For a real treat go to Mount Airy, N.C. that was the basic for Mayberry. The welcome center has a large amount of information about him and the area. Things like Floyd’s Barber Shop where you can still get a hair cut and have your photo taken. May he rest in peace.
Three sad events in my young life…The death of Elvis….The Death of Bear Bryant and now the death of Andy……….Very sad day……
I loved him as Sheriff Taylor. I pray for his family! He will be missed.
Truly a sad day for Mayberry USA and all America.
Greatest American that ever lived, a true hero to all. A prime example of what a legend and star is without all the tabloid drama. Lastly a positive male figure all children and adults alike can look up to.
Rest in peace Mr. Griffith, you will be missed greatly.
