Big Changes On The Radio

July 15, 2012

It’s time to reprogram the presets on your car radio…there were big changes in the local radio market Sunday with three stations changing their frequencies.

K-LOVE, which recently purchased WABB 97.5, moved and is now heard on 98.3 FM.

WABD 104.1 — airstaff, music format and all — has now moved back home to 97.5 FM.

And, “smooth hits” WDLT 98.3 moved  to 104.1 FM.

    >>K-love is STILL at 95.7 where it was before, durring and after it also being at 97.5.

Yes, and no. K-Love is a satellite format that was, and still is, at 95.7 in the Pensacola area. But the the K-Love at 97.5 (still the same format) was a license/management swap with the stations above and is at 98.3.

So K-Love for Pensacola (which is really WKFP 95.7 in Navarre) is still there on 95.7. K-Love for Mobile, which was on the recently purchased 97.5 FM moved to 98.3 which is really licensed to Chickasaw, Ala.

And in the end, neither one of those stations come in very well in parts of North Escambia.

I HAVE HAD SATTELITE RADIO NOW FOR 4 YEARS. I WOULD NEVER GO BACK TO RADIO EVER AGAIN. ANYONE WHO STILL LISTENS TO THE RADIO IS REALLY MISSING OUT. I PAY $24 A MONTH AND HAVE SATTELITE RADIO IN BOTH MY VEHICLE, ON BOTH MINE AND MY WIFES CELL PHONES, AND BOTH OF US HAVE ON-LINE ACCOUNTS TO LISTEN ON ANY COMPUTER, WHEREVER WE WANT. OH YEAH, AND NO NO NO NO NO COMMERCIALS OR POINTLESS CHATTER ABOUT WHO KNOWS WHAT. AND I NEVER LOSE A SIGNAL, AND NEVER HAVE TO WORRY ABOUT LOSING A CHANNEL WHEN GOING ON LONG DISTANCE DRIVES, OR FINDING A STATION THAT PLAYS WHAT I LIKE. BOOOO RADIO! LISTENING TO THE RADIO IS LIKE OWNING A PAGER. WENT OUT OF STYLE A DECADE AGO!

I am so happy that the Gulf Coast Hit Music Station is back to 97.5, they never should have left. Love waking up with the morning guys. Now with better signal. Yay!!!!

Now there is a very strong station next to 98.3 FM interfering with our reception of K-LOVE. They should have left well enough alone.

i wished we could just do away with the electronics all together and live in the old days it was much more peacefull, much lower crime and stress level back then, I know it was harder work but seemed to have made better people.

    @ Jesus Lover
Mainly because 1 person listened for every 100 that used too.
Not that i disagree with you.
