July 20, 2012
The Escambia County Sheriff’s Office along with the Windy Hill Neighborhood watch, partner agencies and volunteers worked to clean up in Beulah Thursday.
The Operation Clean Sweep removed 38 tons of debris. Two outstanding arrest warrants were served, and 23 citations were issued at traffic checkpoints. In addition, the ECSO Sex Crimes Unit made seven address verifications.

Richard, the comments I was replying to were about “violent crimes” which is why I talked about “violent crimes” in my reply.
Thanks for playing, but pay closer attention to the context next time.
Beulah took years to get anything out here for our children from the county thanks for the park it is nice. But for people to get upset for one clean sweep. We don’t ask for much out here but maybe next time we would not have to here closed minded people judge us when they don’t know how we live. At least chan 3 didn’t wast you tv time with this clean sweep.
Henry, law enforcement has a computer mapping tool that helps with knowing where crime is likely to happen, no minority report conspiracy as you would spin it. Use your resources wisely not for publicity. Save the money used for these dog and pony shows and put it back into programs. Instead of a Marine recruit picking up trash why not use them to mentor the younger adults? Clean sweeps are useless in fighting crime ask the residents of Mayfair. If your going to do something then go back to where the problem is happening and start there. I said dedicate resources whatever they may be, you assumed it was arrests.
Henry Coe you said it best!! I agree 100% with your comments!!
Some of you folks are silly. How exactly is LE suppose to know where the next violent crime is going to take place? Did y’all want to set up a “Minority Report” situation where we have psychics deciding where the next violent crime will be? That’s just nuts.
If you want to do something about violent crimes then you need social programs that educate people, help them with mental problems and properly staffing places like Lakeview. That kind of stuff would definitely help, but it can’t be paid for without having tax revenue to pay for it.
Also, while so many that hate supporting America by paying their taxes are extremely short sighted, infringing on the Liberty of people who are not criminals, in order to catch a few who are, is not Constitutionally American.
We can educate and help prevent crimes or we can just narcissistically hate people and put them in jails which cost much more over the long term. Both are pad for with taxes. Jails and having more LE cost much much more. What kind of future do you want. You get what you pay for.
Wall Street has been investing in Private Jails with Private staff and Private doctors that get paid for with your tax dollars. They want there to be more crime and more LE.
Conservative media tells you that taxes going to help the needy is socialism but they don’t tell you about the additional cost of not paying for what they call socialism.
@ Richard: Ted Bundy was arrested in Pensacola, far from his numerous murders, and, Timothy McVeigh, was not arrested standing outside the Murrah Building in Oklahoma City. Nazi war criminals were found in South America. Why should law enforcement be forced to be focused on one spot because of a citizens theory that is where they should be?
So was there any code violations with all of the other things?
17 Enfield you are entitled to your opinion and me to mine. Why wasn’t this effort made in an area where the violent crime is happening on a daily basis? Beulah isn’t one of those place.
@ Richard: I do not think the Sheriff’’s “resources” were being wasted here. How many sworn Deputies, as opposed to the Sheriff’’s Posse, community volunteers, and, a group of great “volunteers” from Pensacola Naval Station were used. It’s a shame when the locals can not take care of their own. But, using your rational, should we have a military air show, when we have American military forces, dying for your right to express your opinion, etal. I think the Sheriff is doing “just fine.”
This all makes about as much sense as changing city logos…….can’t wait for election time.
Ok the high crimes in Beulah really if you have lived out here for more that 5 years you know.If you are one of those that have lived out here 20 or more then well…..you know its a way of living just cause the people of Beulah who have lived this life style for so many years know how to handle business please dont think that sometimes others dont get tired of watching it destroy the new youth. Most people out here live but the same code haha people just think that people in town dont talk to the cops out here some will never tell. The facts will be shared among our own at story time. In truth we have always took care of our own and as for sex crime unit you better know we know where our perverts are we have no problem with posting our own signs.
Most of the trash was from peoples garages and sheds and possible one rental home that had a ton of trash left behind. This was a way to get rid of it at one time. However they only choose a small part of Beulah to do this. Beulah is a nice area and now that ECUA will do weekly pick ups no need for the clean sweep again. They can now fight crime. I do appericate all Deputies and what they do for us!!!!!!
Morgan has no law enforcement experience. He has become the trash collector. Oh, to some of you, he has fooled you. Smoke and mirrors it all it is. He comes in, picks up trash and makes 2 arrests and y’all think he is the greatest cop that has ever lived. I haven’t checked but I would bet that the 2 people arrested are already out of jail. Wake up people, I am not saying he is a bad guy, I am saying he has no clue how to be Sheriff!!
I live on Beulah Road, and it has always been VERY clean. People do it different out there than in the city–they actually respect the land they live on! That number has got to be purely exaggerated, if not construction debris from a neighboring area. As far as the clean sweep goes, it’s purely political. Morgan sent his resources out there to counterbalance Powell, as he was campaigning on the corner of Beulah Road and 9 Mile this morning as early as 7:30A.M. “Don’t look at him, look what we did for you!” Oh, boys.
Any time they make an arrest that is 2 less criminals on the streets. 2 less criminals to rob you, shot you or break into your home or sell drugs………..
Be grateful for small favors. The trash that gets picked helps the area look a lot better, remove places for vermin to hide and if tourists drive through an area they don’t think..”ugh, I wouldn’t want to visit here again”.
Low hanging fruit.
@Richard well they did pick up a whole two people lol
Sounds like 38 tons of feed the good people of Escambia county. 76,000 pounds of debris from Beulah? No wait I mean the Windy Hill Neighborhood. They couldn’t pick up that much trash up off Beulah road from all the stuff that blows off the ECUA trucks on their way to the land fill.
WOW, a clean sweep in Beulah when Deputies are getting shot and drive by shootings are becoming a nightly thing. Shoot outs with assault rifles in Mayfair and David Morgan sends his resources to Beulah. Maybe it has a lot to do with it being election time? Please tell me exactly where the high crime area is located in Beulah, inquiring minds would like to know.
