…when things like this happens…sometimes i think to myself…maybe it might be a good idea to put these folks on a remote island, far away from society, and let them fend for themselves…it is highly apparent that they cannot function in a normal society and that society does not want them…i think it’ll save society money in the short and long run…

Don’t understand the term life imprisonment. The just means someone has to look after something for many years. Laws should be changed so a “life sentence” is only as long as it takes to get the the electric chair in Atmore.

I’m with you, Mike. It sounds like a community correctional situation, or a work camp. WHY would a lifer be in a facility like that? BAD decision by the correctional people!

William, can you tell us more about the correctional facility from which they escaped?

    @ norman

Im pretty sure they didnt escape from jail. Sounds to me like they were in some kind of low security facility. Which would be dumb, considering one of them is serving a “life” term for being a repeat offender. Sounds like Mobile Co. is to blame on this.

How is it possible for two prisoners to escape from jail? Is the police department at fault for not having enough manpower to man the jail. Do you think that it is time for the county leaders to increase funding for law enforcement. Lawbreakers are not going to slow down. When there are more lawbreakers than law enforcement then its time to take action. Why wont the county increase funding for the police? pet projects? Until the number of LEO’s is increased my advice to you is to lock and load.
