Man Accused Of Indecent Exposure, Leading Police On Chase

July 21, 2012

A Cantonment man is accused of exposing himself to women in Pensacola Friday night before leading police on a chase that ended with a police dog finding him under a house.

Jim Beam Collins, 36, alleged exposed himself from his pickup to pedestrians attending the Gallery Night in downtown Pensacola.  Pensacola Police Department officers spotted him a short time later. When he saw the police officers, Collins allegedly almost hit an officer as he sped away. He was chased by Pensacola Police before he ran from his pickup at Belmont and Tarragona streets.

He ran under a house that was quickly surrounded. A police dog was sent under the house, and Collins was reportedly bit. He was taken to a local hospital for treatment before being booked into the Escambia Count Jail on charges that included indecent exposure, fleeing and eluding, and aggravated assault on a law enforcement officer. He remained in jail Saturday morning with bond set at $20,500.

According to Escambia County Clerk of the Court records, Collins was convicted of indecent exposure once in 2008 and  twice in 2010.

His parents must have had a GOOD sense of humor for sure. I feel like he has something in his life that needs to be addressed. I’m sure he has a family out there somewhre that is looking for him or hurting over all of this. I’m sure all of you are not perfect and have never made mistakes.

I agree they could have been more original, but Jim Beam came from A man named Jim Beam. They should have made his first name Tom. lol

Our county is becoming overloaded with sex abusers, sex weirdos, animal abusers, to name a few of our problems, the list of sex preditors in or county is overwelming, and thats just the ones we know about. this is becoming a sick sick population……….taxes are difficult for all of our residents, but somehow I believe it would behoove the citizenry especially our children to find funds to give us a special unit to watch out for predators just like this one.

I saw Mr. JBC driving like a bat out of hell. He is lucky that showing off his manhood didn’t end up with someone dead because he nearly took out quite a few cars (almost me!). I hope the dog bit off what he was so proud of!!!

    Visiting Pensacola keeps getting wilder.

What kind of mother names their child Jim Beam? No wonder he’s a nut.

    @Mike O,

Pensacola Police Department and Escambia County Sheriff’s Office are 2 separate agencies with different policies.

    REGARDING:
“I thought in Escambia County the police are not supposed to pursue a vehicle unless a felony was commited?”

I believe he had escalated it to that point when he tried to hit officers. “When he saw the police officers, Collins allegedly almost hit an officer as he sped away —charges that included indecent exposure, fleeing and eluding, and aggravated assault on a law enforcement officer. ”

They tend to take a dim view on being threatened.

    David for law-abiding citizens and
    remaining calm around armed officers

I thought in Escambia County the police are not supposed to pursue a vehicle unless a felony was commited? I might be wrong, but I do know that if your vehicle is stolen, the police really dont do anything due to the fact that they can not pursue. I am glad they did choose to pursue this pervert and lock him up. But, I would like the same thing done if my car stolen. Instead, the police just wait until someone reports an abandoned vehicle, or the police just get lucky and happen upon it. Im all for whatever it takes to bring a criminal down. After all, that what spike strips and rtoad blocks are for.

I am also amazed that he wasn’t drunk. Maybe the unfortunate name bestowed upon him by the jokers he calls parents has helped keep him away from the bottle.

Then again, with behavior like this, he might soon be saying “I’d rather have a bottle in front of me, than a frontal lobotomy.”
