Monday marked the first day of qualifying week for candidates seeking local office.

Those qualified as of close of business Monday for offices included the candidates listed below. Additional candidates have pre-qualified for the positions listed but did not officially qualify as of Monday. Friday is the last day to qualify for the offices listed.

    Then paperwork in Tallahassee has to be completed–by June 8 at noon. Deadline passed.

    I would like to say that Senator Evers has kept his word to state workers. He opposed privatization of the state prisons as he promised he would. he opposed it siding against his party. He has worked hard to repeal the septic tank law that was going to burden every home owner. I He has proved himself to me and I encourage all of you to support him.

    I cannot believe that Mike Whitehead actually thinks he has any sort of chance to get elected to any office in Escambia County. His ego must have eclipsed his sense of reality…

    If you have the signatures required then what else is needed?
