Caught On Video: Davisville BP Burglarized
June 8, 2012
A burglary Thursday night at a Davisville convenience store is under investigation.
When the clerk at the Korner Kwik Stop (BP) on Highway 97 in Davisville reported for work about 4:30 Friday morning, she found that someone had broken out a window of the store. The store’s surveillance video shows a white male busting out the window about 9:20 p.m. Thursday, just after the store closed at 9 p.m.

The man arrives in a white extended cab pickup truck with an emblem or phrase over the front windshield. He parks in front of the store and spends several minutes in the truck. He exits and takes hammer to break out the window. He also tried unsuccessfully to break out the door glass. He then jumps through the broken window, rummages around behind the counter and tosses cigarettes and rolls of coins outside. He also tries unsuccessfully to push buttons in order to open the cash register.
While inside the store, he is seen using what appears to be towel in his hand in attempt not to leave fingerprints, but he can be seen on the video touching several items without the towel.
He was wearing a light colored t-shirt, long shorts that may have been swim shorts, flip-flops and has a striped towel over his head. At one point, the towel slips off his head showing most of this face on the video.
He appeared to flee the scene in the white pickup southbound on Highway 97.
The burglary is under investigation by the Escambia County Sheriff’s Office. A crime scene technician processing the scene was observed taking blood samples from the broken glass and apparently removing multiple fingerprints from the scene Friday morning.
Anyone with information about the burglary is asked to call Crime Stoppers at (850) 433-STOP (7867) or the Escambia County Sheriff’s Office at (850) 436-9620.
NorthEscambia.com will post the surveillance video later today showing the burglar in action.

Forget the tatoos, they could be rub on to confuse police about video pictures. concentrate on Flip Flops and shorts, study structure of feet and facial features. Someone knows this person or thinks they know him. Truck was probably borrowed or stolen…Look around, tell someone if you think you know this person….
first of all, no offense but i do not think the crime here was that we didnt have the proper window lamination or whatever. and i can assure you that in the 4 1/2 years i have worked here, mr. ken and mr. greg have been great people to work for. they are always going outta their way and into their own pockets to try and make this store a safe and stress free enviroment. the fact stands that if criminals wanna do some damage they will, and no precautions can prevent it. #example number one, a couple times back, they tried to break in thru the back, actually came thru the concrete, but ended up running face first into the deep freeze in the back. mr. ken just installed all the new cameras and updated software the last time. thank goodness for those 2 days spent on a ladder with cables and in the cobwebs, because those images will help aide in this “mastermind’s” capture. seriously people, its not the homeowner’s or the buisness owner’s fault, its the criminals. the delinquents.the addicts.
The person who done this is funny and serious because joker goes to jail in batman that guy is a joker so why can’t he
Several comments concerning the glass in these pictures. The window glass next to the door that was broken is regular annealed glass, not safety glass. It does not conform to the safety glazing standards required by the Florida building code or the Federal safety glazing requirement standard. This glass should have been either tempered or laminated to comply to the requirements of the code. The door glass appears to be laminated glass examining the break pattern and the fact it did not come out of the door, probably causing the robber to break the window to gain access.
To avoid any chance of increased liability the owner should seriously consider replacing the broken window glass with laminated safety glass so he conforms to code and the law. This will also serve as a resistant to anyone else who may try to break in through this location.
Does Escambia County Sherriffs dept have to do zone checks?
This idiot will be on trutv “dumbest criminals” watch and see!
What a moron! Does he not realize they sell cigarettes in CARTONS? I agree with Jen, he will be be caught soon. Heck, I could catch this bozo myself!
How could somebody not recognize those horrible pants? I sure hope somebody this stupid is from several states away.
I would be surprised if the thief hadn’t gone to the store openly within the past few days and bought items, the truck being visible when he entered, quite likely used a credit card with his name on it. All on video.
I was reminded of a kid who knew there were cameras on his school bus, so he put his shirt up over his head ere attacking another kid. He figured the camera couldn’t identify him if it couldn’t see his face. He didn’t’ realize the camera was recording all along and showed him entering the bus, looking at the camera, pulling up his shirt.
David thinking thieves and thugs are stupid
as well as dishonest
Have they caught him yet?? Sure won’t take long to get this thief!!
>>why doesn’t the owner invest in an alarm system?
There was an alarm, but it failed to activate.
why doesn’t the owner invest in an alarm system? It’s not that expensive and the monitoring fee is very low. If i had of been broken into 5 times and had windows to replace, it would be well worth it. If I were a clerk here, i would refuse to work by myself, this guy had to have been watching the person close. Next time since he didn’t get the register open, he could go on in if the clerk were there alone and do God knows what to get the money.
wow, the girls mustve just left minutes before he did this, wander if he was watching them? this is crazy, this man needs to be found asap, come on people help mr. ken put this guy away before its your house he is invading!
i work at this store and in the last 5 years it has been robbed 5 times! come on people stop stealing from the little guy! the meth and the pills are just not worth it! i hope mr. ken gets ya and puts ya under the jail! escambia county has gotten so bad latley, stealing from your kinfolk and your neighbors! grow up and get a job! mcdonalds is always hiring! and everytime we get robbed they always take cigarettes, a few beers or pepsis, and then boss man has to still buy a new window or door! knock it off! lord!
I think i’ve seen that truck on PSC campus in Pensacola a couple of times.
Sad state of our country that things like this happen so often. It’s good the employee didn’t interrupt the burglary and possibly get injured. Hard for the business owners all the way around.
Wonder if he was one of the 780 people that didn’t get the job at walnut hill?
looks like this guy needs to find another occupation b/c robbing and stealing is not one of his strong suits..this should go on worlds dumbest criminals. I am sure they will know his identity soon if they don’t already and he will be in jail shortly. If not from evidence found at the scene most likely b/c he’s too dumb to keep quiet about it.
