Arrest In Murder of Domino’s Pizza Driver
June 9, 2012
A suspect is in custody in the murder of a 19-year old pizza delivery driver outside an Escambia County Domino’s Pizza.
Gary Demeatric Harrison, age 44 of Pensacola, is accused of attacking Tyler John Hinkle, a 2010 West Florida High School graduate, outside the Domino’s Pizza at 27 North Navy Boulevard on September 24, 2011. Hinkle was able to walk into the restaurant to seek help from co-workers before he collapsed and died a short time later at Baptist Hospital.
The Escambia County Sheriff’s Office attempted to serve an arrest warrant on Harrison at his home Friday morning. While investigators were attempting to cuff Harrison, he was able to push away from them and flee on foot.
The manhunt lasted about an hour before Harrison was apprehended by K-9 Argo in a wooded area near 519 Paula Avenue. Harrison was transported to a local hospital where he was treated for minor injuries.
Harrison is being held without bond in the Escambia County Jail on the homicide warrant and an additional charge of resiting arrest.

I used to go to the coffee shop next door to Dominos, and was disappointed by the very bushy, unkempt area behind Dominos, since the neighborhood behind the store looked pretty rough. This area immediately disappeared after the murder-all bushes/trees removed- apparently cleaned up too late.
Looks like the “no snitching policy” didn’t work this time..Give the dog a medal and rabies shot. Too bad one of the deputies could not have said “He’s got a gun” when they were chasing him.
Glad they caught this sorry excuse for a human being. Death penalty to him! I don’t want to pay my hard earned money to keep him alive.
Amen Dan. I say save the meds, I would be glad to smother him with a pillow.
A change of venue request is sure to be comming down the line. An emotionally
charged trial to be sure.
If this thug is convicted, NO mercy should be shown.
I hope he qualifies for the death penalty !!!!
No he doesn’t look evil. He just looks like a punk that got caught. Now tax payers have to take care of this poor excuse for a human being. It’s a shame that someone had to pay the ultimate price of their life and this piece of trash gets 3 meals – AC – healthcare – etc. for the rest of his life…
I second what 429SCJ said! Way to take a bite out of crime Argo! (Note of encouragement to Argo’s handler: In cases like these, feel free to let Argo get a really good taste!)
Only bad thing is we ( tax payers ) get to feed and shelter this trash bag….
Despite what people say,you can’t really look into a person’s eyes and know what lies in his soul.
You look at what they do.
This is great news… I really didn’t expect to hear of an arrest in this case since it’s been several months. Now if only ECSO could get a lead on who killed Tyler Jefferson, the young military girl that was shot while out for a run a few years ago. Somebody knows something…speak up!
Look into his eyes….evil incarnate!!!
Great job, ECSO. I didn’t think we’d ever know who committed this dispicable crime. I hope this loser receives a fair trial, and then pays the ultimate penalty.
Why did he attempt to flee if he is innocent?
K9 Argo good work, I would love to buy you a steak.
Just like a coward…..
Thanks goodness . This brings to peace to myself , I know it brings peace to his family and friends . Tyler “Tinkle” Hinkle was an amazing guy . So sweet . So funny . So smart . Its a shame someone would to this to such an amazing person .
