NHS Girls Track: Can You Spare A Dollar?
May 4, 2012
It’s a simple fundraiser underway by the Northview High School girl’s track team team — it’s a No Calorie and No Dust collecting fundraiser. The team is having a dollar drive — skipping asking people to buy expensive items to raise money. Instead, they are opting to ask Chiefs fans to just donate a buck.
During the first week of the event, the team raised $75. They are still asking friends, family and alumni to donate, and there’s special interest on from just how far away a donation might be sent.
Donations can be made to:
Northview High School
Girl’s Track
4100 West Hwy 4
Century, Fl 32535
The money collected with used to enhance the girl’s track program at Northview such as a camp and new equipment.

Thank you for the support. I do want the public to know the girls aren’t afraid to work. This school year they bagged groceries at the Winn Dixie in Atmore. One track girl came up with the idea. We thought it was a better idea than selling doughnuts, since we are promoting a healthy living. Most people could give up a soda for a day and pay it forward to promoting female athletics. We hope you feel the same way and that Northview Alumni, community, and track enthusiaist will respond with a dollar and encouragement. The money will go to purchase equipment, travel expense, and to attend a camp/clinic. The furthest donation has come from Orlando. The team is making note of the contributors, locations, and messages.
This is a better way to raise funds. It all goes directly to the intended cause and there’s no middle man to siphon off the top. It’s simple, easy and more direct. No need to buy 50 cent candy bar for 5 bucks just so the school will get a nickel from it. I like this way much better. I’m sending my donation right away.
