Flomaton Takes Series From Wicksburg, Advances In Playoffs

The Flomaton Hurricanes (29-5) advanced to the Class 2A Round 4 playoffs Saturday, taking a three game series from the Wicksburg Panthers, behind a two-run homer in the fourth from Hunter Bonds.
Game Three: Flomaton 8 – Wicksburg 4
The Hurricanes defeated the Wicksburg Panthers in deciding matchup Saturday 8-4 . James Dean (6-0) started for the Hurricanes and got the win and Levi King took the loss. The Hurricanes will host the fourth round against the Leroy Bears Friday starting at 4:30 followed by the second game at 6:30.

Wicksburg beat the Hurricanes 10-0 in their second meeting Friday night to force a game three. Aaron Jones got the win for the Panthers, and Joseph Parker (9-2) took the loss for Hurricanes.

Game One: Flomaton 1 – Wicksburg 0 (12 innings)
The Hurricanes defeated the Wicksburg Panthers 1-0 in a 12 inning pitchers duel in Friday’s game one. Zack Watson pitched 10 shutout innings with 12 strikeouts. Jacob Newton (1-0) came in and finished the game for the win. Zack Watson started off the 10th inning with a hit and later scored that inning with two outsk. Luke Genard took the loss for the Panthers.
