Escambia Man Gets Two Life Terms For Sexual Battery Of Teen

May 26, 2012

An Escambia County man  has been sentenced to spend the rest of his life in prison for the sexual battery of a teen.

Michael Dochterman was sentenced by Judge Terry Terrell to two consecutive life sentences for two counts of  sexual battery with a knife. Dochterman was also sentenced to an additional 20 years for a third sexual battery and failing to register as a sex offender. Judge Terrell sentenced Docterman as a dangerous sexual felony offender and designated him as a sexual predator.

Last July, Dochterman forced his girlfriend’s 15-year old daughter to have sex with him while repeatedly stabbing her with a knife. The victim was stabbed nine times and suffered a collapsed lung.

At his sentencing, Dochterman stated “I don’t deserve to be in society”.

Dochterman had previously been convicted of sexual battery.

He made mistakes. However unconscionable those ill choices, people the bible does it not state that our place is
not in the seat of judgement? There’s always more to a story u don’t know what’s
possibly behind there. Leave him be he’s been punished.

So this was at least his second time offense. Thats about right.
Child molesters get at least 2 chances to try and get it right before Florida judges do anything, and thats IF they do anything.
Since we can’t count on the system, maybe we can count on the inmates to get the job done.

TO former CO After 35 years working in prison you should know life for a inmate is not all about the officers/inmates. Officers go home if he tells a JIT to shut up then what? His looks will be enough for his life to suck.

James I find your words very enlightening, as to how society has come to its present state,

Well 429SCJ the thing that went right (as opposed to wrong) is that we are trying to live in a society together and do the best we can. In my view…and I know we will disagree, no matter how bad the crime nobody else deserves equally bad treatment put upon them.

When I was a kid in Atmore, they would have taken this joker and strapped him in the Yellow Mama and fried him but good.

I can only wonder what went wrong with the law, that an animal could rape and torture a child and be allowed to live.

To: Just a Call, I worked for 35 years at several state prisons to include ACI east. he is not going to get what he deserves. He will never have to work, he will be fed 3 meals a day, He will back talk staff and when one of them tells him to shut up he will file a grievance and the officer will get a reprimand for unprofessional conduct. He will tie up our courts with frivolous lawsuits and basically cost the taxpayers millions to keep his sorry tail alive.
To: 429SCJ, I would have no problem passing a sentence of death on an evil person such as this one. I am certain that several of our judges would not have a problem either. Our current laws do not allow the death sentence to be imposed on this crime since the unfortunate victim was not killed.

People should not be critical of our justice system, it is a difficult thing to pass a sentence of death, even on a monster such as this one.

I am not sure that I would be up to the job myself.

    REGARDING:
Dochterman stated “I don’t deserve to be in society”.

Perhaps more accurately he could have said, “I don’t deserve to be.”

    David for caution for family

If this filth goes to ACI I know that them boys will treat him with the same respect as he did his victim.

No sir, you sure don’t deserve to be in society…you deserve to be in the dirt!! If it were MY child, you WOULD be in the dirt!

And, he was convicted of sexual battery previously???????!!!! WHY was he not in for life then? That poor 15 year old could have been spared ALL of the terrible things that happened to her! MAKES ME SICK!
