Wylie Lee “Bull” Warrick

Wylie Lee “Bull” Warrick of Jay passed away in a local hospital on April 5, 2012, after an extended illness.

Wylie was born on September 29, 1931, in Jay. He was a 1949 graduate of Jay High School and as a student played football and went to state level in horseshoe competition. After high school, Wylie completed Coyne Electrical School in Chicago, Illinois, and then worked as an electrician and also did some plumbing which he learned from his father. Wylie was drafted into the United States Army in 1954 and was honorably discharged in 1956. He went to work at Chemstrand as a technician and retired from Monsanto in 1986 after 30 years of service. He was a member of the American Legion Post 121. He enjoyed politics and avidly followed the stock market.

Wylie was preceded in death by his parents, Burie Stewart Warrick and Lucy Schultz Warrick, one brother, William Jennings Warrick, one sister Aimee Warrick Harris, and two nephews. Wylie is survived by two sisters, Theda W. Bray of Jay, Drusilla W. Dobson of Jay, several nieces and nephews, a special friend, Nola Pettis of Flomaton.

Pallbearers are his nephews Chris Warrick, Stewart Bray, Steven Harris, Darren Dobson, Alec Dobson and Tally Warrick.

Visitation was Saturday at the Jay Funeral Home from 3 -5 pm with private graveside service following at the Jay Cemetery.

Jay Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
