Tweedie Files For ECUA Seat

Republican Barry Tweedie has filed for the ECUA District 5 board seat currently held by Larry Walker.
Tweedie ran unsuccessfully for the office in 2000, 2004 and 2008. He has previously served on the ECUA Citizens Advisory Committee. Tweedie is a retired Navy flight officer.
Walker, a Republican, is seeking his sixth term on the ECUA board. He was first elected to the ECUA board in 1988 and served until he ran unsuccessfully for the Escambia County Commission in 2000. He has was re-elected to the ECUA board in 2004 and 2008.
Charlou Williams of Cantonment prefiled to seek the ECUA post in December.

I guess you have to respect a man who won’t take NO for an answer. You don’t have to vote for him, but you HAVE to respect him.
He may be a good man.

I’m not concerned what kind of hat Mr. Walker wears. What matters to me is that whenever I have had an issue with ECUA and called Mr. Walker, he has called me back immediately and continued to follow up until the issue was resolved. I just wish all of our County officials (elected and appointed) were this responsive.
I find it hard to believe Mr Walker is a true Republican. When he walks around with a union hat on telling people how hard the Union works. Yet the Unions are why we do not have jobs left in the US. And schools can not get rid on poor preforming teachers.
New blood so they can remodel the bathrooms to their liking?
Remember the way the sitting ECUA “threw” away our money for their private bathrooms. Makes me won,t to see some new blood in office, and soon!
