Green To Run For Property Appraiser

A political newcomer pre-filed Monday to seek the office of Escambia County Property Appraiser.
Charles M. Green IV of Navy Boulevard pre-filed as a Republican for the office currently held by Democrat Chris Jones. There are currently no other announced candidates in the race.

As a person in the Real Estate business for over 25 years I have always found Mr Jones office to be very helpful with an open door policy to assist the citizens of this county. Mr Jones is a very knowledgeable business man that has a high degree of Real Estate knowledge. He certainly gets my vote.

Just because he was appointed does not mean he has not done a good job. I plan to vote for him come election time. I had a lot of problems after Hurricane Ivan and his office was very helpful!
Chris Jones was appointed by Lawton Childs, after Chris’ father ,John R. Jones decided to retire after many, many years in that office. It seems like those old time Democrats feel like these offices can be passed down like some royal lineage.
I remember Chris when he weighed about 125lb soaking wet, with red hair down to his belt.
I feel he has done a good job and will support him in the next election.
