Escambia Commission Candidate Arrested For Battery

April 7, 2012

An Escambia County Commission candidate was arrested on Friday for allegedly hitting another candidate.

Hugh King, who is running for the District 3 seat on the commission, was booked into the Escambia County Jail on a battery charge. He was released on his own recognizance.

Luman May, also a candidate for District 3 post, accused King of hitting him on the back of his head last Saturday during a public meeting at a Pensacola church. The public meeting was held to discuss the death of Sanford teen Trayvon Martin, who was shot and killed by a neighborhood watch captain.

To panhandlepix he is running for a county commission seat and not the city counsel position. As we can see what this county is coming to. We need a fresh body of young people in these positions to bring about new ideas and bring in companies to boost morale for Pensacola and escambia county. We need to get rid of all of them.

    REGARDING:
“Maybe they should just let all the politicians duke it out…last one standing wins..”

Eight people running for that office. Nothing says either of these two have to be elected to anything.

    David for choices

Same “preacher” that was stopped a few years ago with cocain. Now he commits battery on a political opponent. That sure is the type of leadership the City of Pensacola needs. What that equates to is no leadership at all. But certain areas of society will gladly vote for this individual for one and only one reason.

The news networks are playing these people like a fiddle.
I can only assume that this meeting was like those happening all over the country to expedite the polarization of America.
They should have a meeting to discuss how CNN and NBC doctored up 911 recordings and showed pictures that were intentionally out of focus. They should express anger at the media moguls for lying to them and making them look like a hateful bunch of militants looking for a martyr.
And then, to have an altercation at this “meeting” is tragically comical.

If we were to put as much time and effort into looking for a job as we put into demonstrations and boycotts ,the unemployment would take a different look.

Totally agree “M”. A lot of people and politicians from everywhere is trying this case and I’m not supporting either side of it but this is stupid. To have congress members dressing in hoodies and just making statements in the house or senate in DC involved is just taking time away from more important things.

Let the FBI, and the others investigating take care of this. There are bigger fish to catch, so to speak. Economy, jobs and such rather than chasing something no one knows anything about.

why were they meeting at a local church to discuss something that did not happen here? does that matter here? has it happened here? why waste resources discussing issues from somewhere else?
why not set up a meeting to discuss solar tax credits in florida since they offer them in california?

why do they need a meeting? To discuss something they don’t have the facts to? All we have heard is a couple different story’s and if you wasn’t there then you can’t know the truth. Now look, someone got upset over a disagreement and a mans reputation is flawed now…sad
