Critical Need: Blood Drives Scheduled
April 8, 2012
There are three blood drives coming up this week in the North Escambia area.
There will be a blood drive Monday from 2-7 p.m. at Atmore Community Hospital and a blood drive on Tuesday at International Paper in Cantonment from 8 a.m. until 3 p.m. There will also be a blood drive next Saturday at the Ensley Walmart, 8970 Pensacola Boulevard.
Next week, there will be a blood drive on Sunday, April 15 from 11 a.m. until 3 p.m. at the McDavid Mini Mart on Highway 29 across from the fire department.
While all blood types are needed, there is currently a critical need for O-negative, according to Betty Roberts, spokesperson for Northwest Florida Blood Services.
Blood donors must be at least 18 with parental consent, weigh 110 pounds or more, be in good health and have a picture identification.

Whenever I can give blood I do. Why? It doesn’t hurt and it can save a life! It is such a small thing for me and means so much to the person(s) who receive it. They use the blood and can also use the plasma in it to save lives! Donate blood, Please!!!
Thanks McDavid Mini Mart! I’ve added it to the story.
The list NWFL Blood Services sends out is for a Sunday-Saturday, so we did not have the list including the 15th yet.
I just wanted to mention that there will also be a blood drive Sunday, April 15th, from 11 a.m. until 3 p.m. at McDavid Mini Mart, 101 N. Century Blvd. All donors will receive a FREE t-shirt!
Please come out to ANY of the donation sites and support Northwest Florida Blood Services.
