Lucille Earnestine Parsons

Lucille Earnestine Parsons, age 87, passed away Monday, March 12, 2012. Lucy was born in Panther, West Virginia. She was a member of Billary Baptist Church in Navarre and a member of the Eastern Star.

During World War II she worked for the US Post Office. In the 1950’s, she worked as a missionary in Antigua B.W. I., at the Winthrop’s Missionary Girls School and the leper colony. While there she and her husband assisted in the rebuilding of St. George’s Church. After leaving Antigua, she and her husband began a girl’s homemaking school on the Seychelles Islands. Lucy travelled many places two of her favorites were Madagascar and India. In recent years she enjoyed picking pecans on Willouron Plantation, eating Sunday dinner with family, reading inspirational romances, and volunteering time in the community.

Preceding her in death were her parents Harvey and Gertrude Chambers, her husband Ronald Parsons, her son Ronnie Parsons, sisters Pansy Wright and Glenna Smith, and brother in laws John Smith and Neil Wright.

Survivors include her nephews Jonathan Boland, James Wright, Eric Smith (and BJ), and Ray Smith; nieces Neila Halter (Dennis) and Jenny Wright. Also many grandnieces and nephews, Jennifer, Heather, Sarah, Christopher, Becca, “Bubby”, Hannah, Erica, Summer, Brittany, and Saylin. Special friends of 46 years Ray Croley and Michael Scott as well as, Ricky Nelson, Brittnie Moore and family.

Graveside services will be held at noon, Monday, March 19, 2012, at Elizabeth Chapel Cemetery in Chumuckla with Jamal Brown officiating.

The family will receive friends at Faith Chapel Funeral Home North-Cantonment on Monday, March 19, 2012, from 11 a.m. until noon.

Faith Chapel Funeral Home North, 1000 Highway 29 South Cantonment is in charge of arrangements.
