Ok so Prison is not like it was 10 are more years ago its not as bad now. yes people can get hurt working there but so can the people working outside of the prison and the diffrence issss at least at prison the chance of them finding the person who hurt you way greater than the people working at the little stores. And Yes I worked in a prison for many years and no its not like tv. Prison is a strange thing cause even if you are working there you are still doing time its a life that people seldom tell the whole truth about. I think in some ways it is to protect our loved ones from this very strange world/ lifestyle.

I am HONORED to be married to and know so many Correctional Officers who walk thru those gates into another world each and everyday . They risk their lives to keep us safe on little pay ,short staffing and under the fear of when Gov. Scott will come for them next .. THANK YOU for all you do Men and Women in brown , You deserve Respect and Much Gratitude !!

@ get real you can say that again! It is not many days that go by when it’s short staffed. They make due with the staff they have thanks to Gov. Rick Scott who want hire them any help because it’s not in the budget. I bet if any of those incarcerated individuals escapes and harm or kill one of his loved ones he hire them some help. It’s sad that those officers have deal with that situation on an everyday bases. You got people on the outside looking in that think they know what it’s like to go behind that wire five days a week not knowing if you are going to return home to your love ones the same way you left them. I can honestly say what it’s like to be behind the wire because I have family who go behind that wire 5 days a week to protect not only myself but the citizens of Century and surrounding areas and I pray for all of their safety everyday! They all have a job that many people can’t do and I commend them. So before you judge these officer walk a mile in their shoes, go into harms way to protect your family as well as someone else’s then you can tell us all how it is behind the wire!

It’s not all that scary in there. I think this series will show the public what their tax $$’s are going to fund. I delivered building material to a site inside & got to look at the menu for the week for the inmates posted on the guard shack…. no wonder we have repeat offenders.

Great idea! Never having been incarcerated I have always wondered what the inside of some of the prisons is like and if it’s really as scary as some TV shows would lead you to believe. I’m sure that the view from the inside is considerably different than the view from the outside.
