Computers valued at over $3,000 were stolen during an overnight burglary at Byrneville Elementary School.

One computer was stolen from the main building of the charter school, while two others were taken from two different portable classroom buildings on the campus. There were no signs of forced entry into any of the three buildings, according to an Escambia County Sheriff’s Office report.

Sheriff’s investigators are working to develop potential suspects in the case.

The person or persons responsible for incident could face felony charges of burglary and grand theft.

Anyone who has information regarding the crime is asked to call the Escambia County Sheriff’s Office at (850) 436-9620 or Crime Stoppers at (850) 433-STOP (7867).

I cannot believe this could happen! I was surprised when the gates went up around the school…but I was relieved that my children were completely safe at school. How could someone just walk in and take something from these children?

What a crying shame that our little community and our precious little school has to endure something like this. Bryneville does so much for the community, and our children need a good education which the computers are used for. We have wonderful teachers, and this just makes it harder on them. These people are up to no good, BUT THE GOOD LORD SAYS YOU REAP WHAT YOU SEW. “You can run but you can’t hide from Century’s finest they will catch you”. Good luck ESCO.

It is one thing to be a theif of goods from an individual, but to spend the very supplies that we are TRYING to educate our children will and stealing their future takes an individual (s) that simply have no soul!!! HORRIBLE! I hope they find these people. Such a senseless act, our schools do not have enough funding as it is! Get a job and leave the future of our children alone.
