Winds Of Change: Cooler Gulf Coast Weekend; Sleet Possible Tonight

Winds gusting over 40 mph and showers marked the passage of a cold front through the North Escambia area on Friday. Skies will clear on Saturday, with cooler weather for the rest of the weekend.

Here is your official North Escambia area forecast:

  • Tonight: A slight chance of rain showers before 11pm, then a chance of rain showers and sleet between 11pm and 2am, then a chance of rain showers after 2am. Cloudy, with a low around 38. Calm wind becoming northeast around 5 mph. Chance of precipitation is 30%. Little or no snow accumulation expected.
  • Sunday: A 20 percent chance of rain. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 62. East wind between 5 and 10 mph.
  • Sunday Night: Mostly cloudy, with a low around 45. East wind between 5 and 10 mph.
  • Monday: Partly sunny, with a high near 68. East wind between 5 and 10 mph.
  • Monday Night: A 20 percent chance of showers. Cloudy, with a low around 56. East wind between 5 and 10 mph.
  • Tuesday: A 20 percent chance of showers. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 74. Southeast wind between 5 and 10 mph.
  • Tuesday Night: A 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 62. South wind between 5 and 10 mph.
  • Wednesday: A 50 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 78. South wind between 10 and 15 mph, with gusts as high as 25 mph.
  • Wednesday Night: A 30 percent chance of showers. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 52.
  • Thursday: Partly sunny, with a high near 73.
  • Thursday Night: A 20 percent chance of showers. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 50.
  • Friday: A 40 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 74.

    I thought I recognised that road.Man I wish I had that tree up here for firewood!

    I walked outside just before the front pulled through and it was about 76 degrees. I literally walked out 10 minutes later and the temp had to have dropped 20 degrees. Very weird.
