Navy Federal To Hire 450-600 This Year

February 18, 2012

Navy Federal Credit Union announced Friday that the company will hire another 450 to 600 call center employees during 2012.

CEO Cutler Dawson said the new employees are needed due to the credit union’s growth — including 400,000 new members last year.  The new jobs are in addition to 700 new hires last year that pushed total employment to 2,200. With the new hires, the company’s Beulah campus will near its 3,300 worker capacity.

Navy Federal has expressed interest in purchasing the adjacent 240-acre Langley Bell 4-H Center. So far, no agreement has been made to purchase the 4-H facility from Escambia County.

I have membership in several military credit unions and have yet to see one with a headquarters as large as this. This place is more akin to Langley Va. or Ft Mead Md. and continues to grow. I noticed 400,000 new members, is membership open to just active duty military/retirees and federal employees or can anyone just walk in off the street and join? It would seem a navy credit union HQ would be more at home in Annapolis Md, as opposed to Beulah. I know people are desperate for work, but it would be just awful to loose the Langley Bell 4H Center. It is sad to have to make a deal with the devil, for the sake of jobs.

Not only is it good pay, but excellent benefits and an employee friendly workplace.

    REGARDING:
“I’m curious as to what their wages are.”

You might get an idea from:
    http://www.glassdoor.com/Salary/Navy-Federal-Credit-Union-Salaries-E7281.htm

It shows a minimum of $12 per hour. I know of one in Pensacola which is NOT Navy Federal which starts at $10/hour last I heard. They are always looking for new employees.
