Man Bites Deputy’s Cruiser Multiple Times (With Photo)

February 22, 2012

A Santa Rosa County man is facing charges for sinking his teeth into a deputy’s patrol car — literally biting down through the paint.

The Santa Rosa County Sheriff’s Office responded to a neighborhood after residents said a white male with a flashlight  was knocking on doors asking them to call 911 because he needed medical attention.

Eric Stephen Scott, 47, became agitated when deputies arrived, cursing them and asking them to kill him. Deputies detained Scott. As he was leaning over the front of a patrol car, he began to bite the car, dragging his teeth and stripping the paint down to the bare metal in multiple locations. (Yes, those are teeth marks in the hood pictured above.)

Scott was transported to an area hospital for evaluation. Deputies said he was under the influence and possibly bath salts. Charges are pending against Scott for criminal mischief and resisting an officer without violence, according to the Santa Rosa County Sheriff’s Office.

The damage to the deputy’s cruiser was estimated at $600.

    REGARDING the doughnut quip:

Some people are sensitive about the stereotypes of law enforcement officers eating doughnuts I don’t know anybody who DOESN’T like them, but officers’ve been singled out for some unknown reason.

    David for health foods,
    health foods being those
    which make you happy
    since happy is healthy

I had to check the date, thought it might be April 1st. What I don’t get is the guy was begging for medical help, the neighbours called 911 and could have easily asked for an ambulance. But instead ask for the police. Which ended with this man being arrested. I don’t get it.

SRCSO said today the deputy’s patrol unit would be tested for rabies. With the amount of time each patrol unit is out in public the precaution is necessary………..,..,officials said.

SRSCO said today the deputy’s car would be tested for rabies. The amount of time each patrol unit spends in public makes the precaution necessary. LEO’s said.

Calm down buddy, it was only a joke. Don’t take things so serious… They make medication for that.

My apologies I forgot for the moment I lived in the United States of the Offended.

They ought to attach this picture and this story to the ‘bath salts’ to let folks know…

Molino-Anon: That was a cheap (and neither original nor humorous as you seem to think) shot against people who put their lives on the line for you every day. Cops are your best bud when you need one, and targets of your immaturity when you think everything’s fine. I endured the same name-calling stuff from clueless people such as you when I returned from both Viet Nam and the first Gulf war…but then again we were told that the majority of people whose freedom we fight for would be unappreciative. Personally, I salute the law enforcement officers who go out everyday not knowing whether they’ll be going home again at the end of their shifts. Thanks, all you LEOs!
