A Cantonment man was charged with DUI after an early Friday morning wreck on I-110 in Pensacola.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, 23-year old Dustin Michael Mason was traveling north on I-110 just south of Maxwell Street when he ran his 1995 Chrevrolet S-10 pickup into the rear of a trailer on dump truck driven by 60-year odd Morgan Blackmon, Jr. of Pensacola. He also collided with a 2009 sweeper being operated by 52-year old Jeffrey Hedenberg of Pensacola. The dump truck and sweeper were operating on the west shoulder of the interstate at the time of the crash.

Mason was transported to Sacred Heart Hospital with minor injuries; Blackmon and Hedenberg were not injured.

According to the FHP, Mason was charged with careless driving and DUI with property damage following the 3:29 a.m. wreck.

    @JAck
    I get it, maybe he is trying to turn his life around. I sure don’t understand WHY
    we would give a drunk a hardship license, but we would not give a man
    who needs to work so he can do RIGHT by his children a hardship license.

    Personally if I were the judge, if a MAN did not take care of his
    children’s support obligations TWICE. The second offense he would
    be in JAIL at night and WORK during the day, and EVERY SINGLE PENNY
    would go to his children. Heaven knows it is NEVER enough to save
    and send them to COLLEGE.

    STUPID to many times is the name of our JUSTICE.

    My bad; just looked it up, “incontinence” was used correctly.

    Don’t know what bathroom problems (incontinence) have to do with any of this. Also, don’t know how driving under the influence, wrecking your truck , not supporting your children or paying your fines can be considered “trying to do the right thing”.
    I’m probably dense, but I can’t make the connections.

    but heres the problem with florida. he can get a hardship drivers license and do it again. but those of us who owe either child support or a small court fine are not allowed a hardship when we are trying to do the right thing

    It is sad that one person can be such an incontinence to so many people by just one bad choice… Don’t drive drunk people… Thankfully no major injuries!!!
