Blue Jacket Jamboree Benefits FFA (With Photo Gallery)

February 19, 2012

The Northview High School theater came alive Saturday nigh during the Blue Jacket Jamboree presented by the  Northview FFA Alumni  featuring the CGMA Country Group of the Year “The Springs”.

For a photo gallery from the event, click here.

The Northview FFA Alumini uses proceeds from the event for scholarships for eligible seniors and transportation for FFA members to state and national conventions.

The Springs have shared the stage with country greats like Alan Jackson, Craig Moran, Toby Keith and Reba McIntire with their high energy brand of Country/Southern Rock.

Nominated along with Steel Magnolia, Sugarland, and Lady Antebellum for the New Music Awards “Country Group of the Year”, The Springs are seen by some as the “next big thing” in country music.  The all-male group has also had two Christian country number one songs.

The Blue Jacket Jamboree was sponsored in part by NorthEscambia.com, Cat Country, 98.7 and Your Country 102.7 WXBM.

Tate HS FFA, I remember when Mr Tommy Taylor (HOT OH Mighty), handed out our jackets. I think the FFA is a positive enriching experience for students, even if they have no goals toward commercial agriculture. Sadly I outgrew that blue jacket.

    >> “Pity there were not many photo’s of the FFA young ladies and gentlemen. 7 pages of photos and only 3 of the FFA team. Such a shame, not much recognition for them.”

NorthEscambia.com loves the FFA and supports the FFA at different schools as much as we possible can (including, if you’ll note the front of your program if you were at the show, sponsoring this event).

But the FFA officer team was not the ones on stage Saturday night…it was the group The Springs — they were the focus of the article.

The event was, by the way, was a project of the FFA Alumni with the current FFA students volunteering to help. The Alumni group then in turn uses the proceeds to help the current FFA members.

It is National FFA week, and later this week you will see lots of FFA kids on NorthEscambia.com taking part in various events both at different schools. Photos begin Wednesday morning, I believe.

Pity there were not many photo’s of the FFA young ladies and gentlemen. 7 pages of photos and only 3 of the FFA team. Such a shame, not much recognition for them. At least they have their end of year award ceramony to look forward too. Well done to you all. I hope the fund raiser ws a success for you. :)
And thank you and well done for those who performed and help arrange this years fund raiser. :)
