Sheila Wiley

January 13, 2012

Our special angel, Sheila Wiley went home to be with her Heavenly Father on the wings of a butterfly on January 12, 2012. Sheila was born July 1, 1954.

Shelia was preceded in death by her parents Arnett Wiley and Inez Wiley Granger and her stepfather Donald Granger.

She is survived by her siblings Rev. Steven (Rev. Reba) Wiley, Sherry (Jim) Hinote, Shirley Pugh, Claude (Glenda) Wiley, Paul (Laura) Wiley, many nieces, nephews and great nieces, great nephews that she dearly loved.

Sheila touched many lives through her devotion at Farm Hill United Methodist Church. She served as a Sunday School teacher, lay witness leader, Children’s Church director, youth leader and choir director. She proudly wore many hats and served God always.

In addition to the love of her church family, she was also a well-respected retired Escambia CountydEducator. She touched the hearts and lives of many children, parents and co-workers. Her classroom motto was “Work Hard and Play Harder”. She loved her students and only wanted the best for each of them. They each had a special place in her heart and her in theirs.

Shelia was truly one of God’s special angels and will be deeply missed by all. Her sense of humor and warm smile will always be remembered. “Go Rest High On That Mountain, Your Work On Earth Is Done.”

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Sunday, January 15, 2012, at Farm Hill United Methodist Church. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends at Faith Chapel Funeral Home North-Cantonment from 5-8 p.m. on Saturday, January 14, 2012.

Faith Chapel Funeral Home North, 1000 Highway 29 South, Cantonment is in charge of arrangements.

My wonderful Sister Sheila. We have enjoyed so many great times together and I will cherish those forever. I will miss you so very much, but I am thankful that you are out of pain. (You now have that Cindy Crawford Body.) My greatest comfort is knowing that you are with Our Heavely Father and you have ran the race so very well always sharing the Love of God to anyone you could. You are my butterfly and everytime I see one I will think of you. I Love You.

Aunt Sheila, We will miss you more than words can express. We will always remember your laugh, smile, sense of humor and your willingness to help others. You were always there to lend a helpful hand with homework and school projects. Our late night phone calls were always comforting to me. I have so many wonderful memories growing up and you being an active part of my life! I love you and miss you!

Lane & Leslee will always remember their GREAT-Aunt Sheila. In the few short years they had with you, you made a life long impression. They always looked forward to sleepovers at your house and enjoyed spending time with you. Lane will ALWAYS and FOREVER have you in his heart. You touched him and made a HUGE impact on him. He admired you and talks about being a school teacher one day (like his Aunt Sheila). Leslee loved painting your fingernails (well some of it would actually be on your fingernails, LOL!) and making paper snowflakes. You helped give her a love for arts and crafts and butterflies that she will always remember.

WE miss you, but I am so happy knowing you are in peace now. No more suffering, no more sickness and no more bad (health) days! I have comfort knowing you are with MawMaw, Granddaddy and Don watching over us. I will see you again one day…….I love you!!

She is the first of our siblings to pass away, and we who knew her best and loved her will miss her so much. However, she is reunited with her parents, and in the presence of our Lord, she will celebrate in a new and healthy body. We continue to love her, for love is the only thing that is eternal.

She was truly an angel and now she has a new body. I know she is dancing in heaven now. I was blessed to know and love her.
