This intersection is a total cluster —-what ever—- due to a number of problems that most would not be helped by a traffic light. North bound traffic turning on to 97 will find cars stopped trying to turn onto Crabtree Rd. The cars behind them watching south bound traffic on 29 will look up in front of them and find a stopped car and they then have no where to go. If you are turning south onto 29 it’s best not to stop at the stop sign because the driver behind you will be looking north checking south bound traffic and you’ll be rear ended. If the fast food place goes in on the northwest corner it’s only going to be worse. Yes the FHP numbers show this is the worse intersection in the county—most are rear end hits.

    REGARDING:
“especially when people don’t stop at the stop sign ”

If people aren’t obeying the existing traffic laws, what would make them obey a stop light?

“was charged with hit and run, DUI property damage and driving with a suspended license. ”

I just don’t see where a traffic light would’ve helped. Get one if it makes you happy, but don’t expect a change in human nature.

“Chatman continued south on Highway 29 where he was taken into custody near Molino Road.”

Congratulations to the one who stopped him so quickly, less than a mile down the road.

    David for personal responsibility

the new bigger gas station doesn’t help…especially when people don’t stop at the stop sign b4 exiting the gas station onto 29….that is a rough intersection and something needs to be done!!

Will they ever put a stop light at this intersection??? I have counted 27 accidents in 3 months last year, and 7 so far in January. How many does it take to get a light put in?????
