Mitt Romney Campaigns In Escambia County (With Photo Gallery)

January 29, 2012

Republican presidential front-runner Mitt Romney brought his campaign to Escambia County Saturday morning, appearing before a high-energy crowd of supporters at The Fish House.

“I really think this is a battle for the soul of America,” Romney said, just days before Florida’s Presidential Primary Election.

Romney promised to increase America’s military might, increasing the ranks by tens of thousands if elected. “The world is not a more safe place,” he told the crowd, flanked by Arizona Sen. John McCain, Rep. Jeff Miller, Pensacola Mayor Ashton Hayward and actor John Voight.

“We’re a patriotic people,” Romney said. “We love America.”

    Regarding:
“MORMANS ARE CHRISTIANS THATS A FACT!”

Mormans might be, never heard of them before.

Mormons maintained they were the ONLY Christians. That everybody else was nonChristian because Christianity was wiped out years ago and God had to start over; only they were true because they had the Book of Mormon, the other teachings of the great Joseph Smith and the guidance of the elders to set them straight.

If you define Christians as those who are Mormons, then Mormons are definitely Christians. If you define Christians as those who trust Christ as Lord and Saviour, many who call themselves Christian are mistaken. Those who are in a church or organization which rejects the teachings of Christ or adds to them to fix the “flaws” of trusting Christ are called on to get out from among them.

Most Mormons are good people, official doctrines and history notwithstanding. Mitt Romney seems to be a good person as does President Obama.

    David for better people

Mitt Romney is a member of The Church of Jesus Christ lds.org see link for news release. There is no way Mitt’s religion can be construed as anything but Christian. They have even named their church in His name as instructed in scripture. Christ’s chuch should be named after to whom it belongs. Mormon is a nick-name given by outsiders due to the book Mormom protected over his lifetime.

Ah look its flip flop Romney. So I wonder which one got off the plane today.

To address the “Mormons are Christian” statements: They are not Christians because a Christian is a person who believes on Jesus Christ alone and follows him and obeys his commands. If you follow another person, such as the teaching of Joseph Smith, then you do not following the COMPLETE commandments of Jesus.

Besides, Mormons believe Jesus and the Devil were brothers and that is just blasphemy.

Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world.” (1 John 4:1)
“But these are written, that ye might believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God; and that believing ye might have life through his name.” (John 20:31)

The Israelis will never approve Romney to the presidency. Romney, as a Mormon, will not support Gods Chosen people. The gentiles need to get behind Newt, he will support Zionist values, in America and provide military support to Israel. God made this world for the Jews, his people, not Joseph Smith and his Mormons. I do not care if Newt took 50 wives, Newt is the Man for Israel and America.

Ron Paul will keep the government out of your bedroom and your private lives. Not to mention stopping needless wars

Some people should hit the books and study a little before they publish something on a Public Forum. Saying Mormons are not Christian is like saying Hot Dogs and Apple Pie isn’t an American Favorite. A mans religion should be his business and the ability to improve the shape of finances in this country is what’s important. Mitt Romney is the only candidate who has more than once taken businesses that were failing and turn things around. I’m guessing some people are cheering because Obama has done what others has failed to do is destroy this countries economy and military in just under three years. Someone said lead or get the he’ll out of the way. It’s lower than any other time for our great country when our president ask our fighting men and women are ask to pay for their on medical because they volunteered they were not drafted!! You better vote smartly or we will see the demise of this great country.

    PRESIDENT MITT ROMNEY 2012-2020

LET’S LET A MAN WHO KNOWS HOW TO FIX IT, AND WANTS TO FIX IT, FIX IT!

BESIDES, THE WOMEN IN THIS COUNTRY NEED A GREAT ROLE MODEL LIKE ANN ROMNEY…

Kathy, you are a very uninformed judge of what Mormons believe.

  13. Dittox2 on January 29th, 2012 1:38 pm

Ditto Kathy! People who vote for Romneny are either woefully ill informed or they have some sort of vested interest in Romneys election….I will not vote Republican if he gets the nomination. Send the Republican establishment a message….if he gets the nomination vote Libertarian or write someone in….I agree with friction…I’m not gonna be spoon fed a candidate….the establishment thinks we will just hold our nose and vote for Romneny….ain’t happening!

Libya did not deal with their own govt. we did, but i do agree that the US armed forces are their to protect the country of the United States of America. Our military should not be defending a nother country it is not with in our jurisidiction, their are many countrys around the world but we dont step in everytime and based off the the aperance, we only help when a big US compnany ask isn’t that right catapillar(libya)

  15. Kathy on January 29th, 2012 7:38 am

Interesting that the Republican bosses tell republicans who to vote for and they all fall in line. It is also interesting that the belt buckle of the Bible Belt would vote for a non-Christian. Mormons do not believe in the Holy Trinity, they do not believe that Jesus Christ is Lord merely a prophet like Joseph Smith. They all think they will be sealed together as a family unit and the higher you go in the Church of Mormon, the better the new planet they will go to after death to live happily together. So interesting that you can vote for this man who is not bright enough to know this is a load of crap, but smart enough to be your president. And you were worried that President Obama was of Islam faith but you will vote for a Mormon. The man has off-shore accounts and you pay higher tax rates but that’s okay because he think he can beat President Obama. Sounds crazy.

It is nice to see someone campaigning in northwest Florida. Most of the time it happens on the east coast of Florida. Many candidates forget about the panhandle entirely.

  18. Elizabeth on January 29th, 2012 7:17 am

Romney has flip-flopped on most issues in his career.

Sadly, the major news outlets (take your pick; they’re ALL about the same) won’t cover Paul’s campaign. Since most Americans will only regurgitate what Fox News, CNN, etc. feeds them, it will likely we difficult for America to see much difference in the White House antytime soon.

  19. Friction against the machine on January 29th, 2012 6:47 am

The Republican establishment and their political opportunists can push Romney all they want but true conservatives won’t be spoon fed a Massachusetts moderate.

  20. Wren on January 29th, 2012 5:36 am

Our very freedoms are at stake in this election. It’s time we threw out prejudices and elect Romney who has the background and common sense to get us out of this mess.

  21. huh on January 29th, 2012 2:05 am

The world would be much safer if we could stay out other countries and stop provoking un-needed wars. Let these other countries deal with the governments themselves (like Libya did)

Ron Paul is the only non war starting candidate running for president.
