Authorities Looking For DCF Impersonator

January 24, 2012

Authorities are looking for a man they say is pretending to be a Department of Children and Families employee.

The Escambia County Sheriff’s Office said a white male identifying himself as DCF employee Craig Johnson entered a home, claiming to be conducting an investigation of child neglect. DCF said the agency does not have an employee of that name, nor are they conducting an investigation of the family in question.

The white male was described as being approximately 5’10” tall, 170 pounds, dirty blond hair, full goatee, wearing khaki pants and white dress shirt. He was  described as being approximately 30-35 years of age and was driving a white 2011 model Chevy Malibu.

Investigators encourage anyone who has information to contact the Sheriff’s Office at (850) 436-9620 or CrimeStoppers at (850) 433-STOP.

    @Char
    Yes, all of this inspite of the Dept. of Children and Family Services. My point exactly!

    Let’s hope he finds the home of a veteran, recovering from PTSD, who’s polishing his AK-47 when the doorbell rings.

    “The horror…….The horror!”

    He should be locked up for the goatee alone!

    @just-a-thought.
    No it wouldn’t, they would just think up something else to get their foot in
    the door where there are children or females.

    The problem is not the government but the people who HAVE to HAVE
    someone looking over their shoulder or they would beat them to death, leave them somewhere, or throw them off a bridge. (even one is too many as far
    as I’m concerned). The sad fact is millions are abused every year and to many die a terrible prolonged death.

    The other problem is there is MORE people in the world today and more of them who don’t take care of their children and the government doesn’t have the money
    or enough decent people to handle the job anymore.

    Just like our Schools they are last on the list for funding of real money to
    be educated or protected.

    There are a lot of HOULIGANS out there who would hurt you for the dimes
    in your pockets right now. DON’T OPEN YOUR DOOR TO ANYONE YOU
    DON’T KNOW. Anyone can put on a clean white shirt and dress pants,
    it doesn’t make them a nice person.

    For almost 200 years our country faired very well without a government agency overlooking how parents raise their children. Apparently, the problem of child abuse and lack of proper care is worse now than than before the Dept. of Children and Families was introduced. Perhaps we should save millions of tax dollars and disband this unnecessary dept. and return the God given right to raise children back to the parents. Afterall, the government has never made a cituation better by taking over and controlling how that cituation is handled. God chose the parents, politicians chose the Welfare Dept. Think about it. At least this would stop fake govenment “officials” from knocking on your door.

    I think I recall this happening a few months ago also in this area. Even I would not let someone in my house to just look around. Call the S.O. or what ever LEO that cover your area.

    As a former foster parent, I can tell you that ALL Dept. of Children & Families employees (as well as employees of other government agencies) must wear proper identification in a visible area. If someone comes to your door, ALWAYS ask to see identification.

    So agree with Recluse and Julia. To the Young Mom, take our advice and NEVER keep your doors unlocked, call police without questioning yourself. Not only to a child could he be a danger too but also with other females in the home. I hope they get him and he doesn’t see sunshine for a long while— he’s is up to something very sick indeed.

    And just when I thought I had heard it all………….
    What kind of sicko does this?

    Don’t open you door to any stranger. If they say you have to or they will call the police. Tell them to go ahead. Don’t tell them that you are calling them ….. but do call the police! Then bar the door!

    I do hope they catch him before he does some sick something to a child.

    PEOPLE PLEASE HAVE THE COURAGE TO ASK FOR ID AND CALL THE D.C.F. TO CONFIRM THAT THE PERSON REALLY WORKS FOR THEM.

    I am a young mother that is home alone everyday until late hours and this terrifies me. I hope they catch this man soon or even figures out what he is doing this for.
