Congrats! Trent Richardson…….sounds like a future Hall of Famer! I hope one of my favs draft you! (and yes, I know there is no such word as famer but that’s what they say)
He will do well as a pro. He’s has proven himself on and off the field.
I just hope he doesn’t turn into another Emmitt “Give $20 for my autograph” Smith.
“I think its great he is going pro. He is a great football player no doubt.
But it is a stupid decision to pass on senior year. Get your degree ,
All it takes is 1 career ending injury, and then what? You have nothing to fall back on.”
His signing bonus alone will easily pay for the rest of his as well as his children’s college, so that’s not an issue. Secondly, even if he didn’t finish his degree, he could get a job anywhere he wanted in Tuscaloosa for the rest of his life. This is the smartest move for him because, as you said, all it takes is on career ending injury. Who’s to say that injury doesn’t come his senior year of college. He should get paid while he can.
Congrats to Trent!! Like most fans, I am selfish to want him back at UA next year but I think it is the best for him. His stock is high right now. I am a Troy Trojan grad and there is an alumnis from our team that was able to play pro and still get his MBA degree during the off season. All while playing with the Dallas Cowboys……unknown player by the name of Demarcus Ware. Trent can do anything he wants.

When we went to hear him speak a few months ago he said that he only had 2 semesters left. I don’t blame him at all. He said his education was very important and he has a family to support. Go Trent and Roll Tide!!
He was in Tom Thumb at 29 and 97 this morning!
Well, I’m not surprised. He’ll go high in the draft and will make us all proud when he starts playing in the NFL. I’ll miss watching you play for Alabama, Trent, but I wish you continued success as you advance in your career. ROLL TIDE!!
