Photos: Century’s Old Fashioned Christmas Light Display

December 24, 2011

Thousands of cars pass the Century Roadside park each evening, very few stopping to enjoy the old-fashioned Christmas lights.

The lights, which became Century’s after the City of Pensacola upgraded some number of years ago, include a large North Pole house, “The Jolly Trolley”, and Santa with his sleigh and reindeer.

Today, we take you inside the park at North Century Boulevard (Hwy 29) and Hecker Road for an up close and personal look at  the lights.

We look forward to this display every year. We have lived on Hecker Road now for over four years and are so happy to pass by this display during the holidays. It really helps put the Christmas Spirit in your heart. Now that the park is named for Mrs. Nadine, it means even more!

Bless you Rita for your thoughts of my mom. As soon as I saw the article I thought of her. Christmas is very empty this year for me… My mother LOVED decorating for everyone to enjoy. I know how much the town meant to her, and she was always working to make it a little better. I hope everyone enjoys the displays. Maybe it will bring joy to many in the area, and people who pass through. Merry Christmas to everyone!!!

The lights wrere very pretty, when we went by the park ,My first thought’s was NADINE and HER FAMILY, Then I wonder who put it up this year. She and I had known each other as far back as teens, she was alway’s so sweet. As you stop to look you can;t help but to see NADINE;S SMILE, GOS BLESS HER FAMILY THIS YEAR AT CHRISTMAS FOR THERE WILL BE A VACANT CHAIR AT THEIR TABLE . AND EVERYONE ELSE THAT LOST LOVE ONE’S. PRAYERS ARE WITH EVERYONE.
