One More Game: Chiefs Quarterback Brandon Sheets On All-Star Team With Other Local Players

December 9, 2011

Northview High School quarterback Brandon Sheets will join several of his fellow Chiefs in one more football game as the West takes on the East next week in the Subway High School All-Star Football Game.

Sheets was suspended from his final game in the state playoff series by the Florida High School Athletic Association, forced to sit out the state semifinal game last week against Chipley. Sheets will join West Florida Jaguar star quarterback Kyle Faxlanger in the QB position for the West team’s offense. Faxlanger led the Jags to the best season ever in the school’s history.

The West All-Star Team, representing Escambia County, will include several other North Escambia area players: Northview’s Montaio Mitchell, Sean Knight, Brian Ross, and Austin Albritton; Tate’s Scott Ryals, Jacob Lasky, Cameron Covington and Hagan Mancuso;West Florida’s Jalen Jones, Joe Jackson, Antwon Carter, Jorgen Stolsig, Jake Morris and Coach Harry Lees; and McDavid resident Dak Sims who lives in McDavid.

The East All-Star Team, representing Santa Rosa and Okaloosa counties, will include local players Sammy Jones and Haden McCaskill from Jay High.

The game will be played next Friday, December 16 at Woodham Middle School. Admission is $7, or $5 with a canned food donation to Manna Food Pantries.

They heard about the extra help they had at Northview down there and shut it down. Could not take there Ref.’s with them. Hold your heads up Chiefs you would of made it all way and it sure would of been a better game then Chipley put on.

Jefferson County 47-13 over Chipley with Chipley’s last score coming in the final 23 seconds of the game! Hold your heads up Chiefs because we know you’d had a better showing than them.

Pork chop, pork chop – greasy, greasy, Jefferson County is beating Chipley – easy, easy! 40-7 in the 4th Quarter!

Congrats to all the players – it’s always great to see kids getting rewarded for their accomplishments. I was very happy to see some Tate kids on their of course I’m a Tate parent but those guys worked hard all season and whether we had a good season or not kids still deserve the recognition. I thought I would see maybe a couple more names from the defense side of things from Tate but we can’t all get what we want. Good job guys!!

Congrats to all the NHS players selected. I agree with BULL about the O-Line.

They got it wrong again…why was not someone from Northview’s Oline selected for the all star game? Anyone of those kids should be there. Do all the work and get none of the glory…..the life of offensive linemen. Can’t please everyone I guess.

Congrats Brandon. I knew this annoucement was coming. It is a no brainer that you deserve to play in this game. Still shocked that they took a back up RB from a Pcola school over Dustin Yuhasz (NHS Senior) last year. I guess somebody new someones daddy. Looks like they got it right this year. Maybe.
