One Dead, One Injured In Shooting Near Baptist Hospital

One person is dead and another is critically injured after they were shot Saturday night near Baptist Hospital.

The incident occurred in the 1200 block of West Moreno Street about 7:15 p.m. Pensacola Police Department detective James Reese said one person died at the scene and one was transported to Baptist Hospital. Names are not yet being released pending notification of next of kin.

Reese said a white vehicle, possibly a Chevrolet Suburban or similar model, was seen leaving the area westbound on Moreno Street following the shooting.

A motive for the shootings remains under investigation. Additional details will be released when they become available.

    this is an every week thing around here anymore.its gona get worse before its gets better.drugs is the going thing now to make money and stealing .better get you a gun at your house.its xmas time and everybody needs money.

    It seems the loss of morals and the lack of punishment befitting the crime make more people likely to do these things.

    william, we were listening to this event unfold on our radios here at work last night. we kept checking wear and pnj websites for more info but never saw anything posted before we all went to sleep. All of us kept saying, “man, if this was in north escambia, william would be ON IT before we got our patients to the er”!!! You do a GREAT job!! :-) )
    ps. no more behind shots please! i had to make my new years resolution early after seeing a shot from a recent wreck worked!! LOL

    This is getting to be common everyday news that no longer makes us say OH NO, or OH MY GOODNESS. It is beginning to be news of shootings here everyday and it’s becoming nornal. And THAT makes me so sad.
