Funeral Services Held For Northview Student
December 12, 2011
Funeral services were held Sunday for 16-year old Kenneth Wade Jernigan, the Northview High School sophomore that passed away last Thursday following a Wednesday wreck not far from the school.
As an organ donor, Wade’s death will allow others a chance at life.
“Through his unselfish, giving spirit he chose to be an organ donor, and even though we greatly grieve his passing, through it he gave eight people and their families life and in this way he lives on through them,” the family said.

I love you Ken and Melissa! Y’all had an amazing son and you know it. I’m praying for y’all. I know it’s hard but God will get y’all through it.
I did not know Wade, but my son went to school with him. My heart goes out to his parents. May God continue to comfort as only He can. Praying for you guys in the days, weeks and months to come.
I wanted to tell everyone in this community how much we appreciate all of the love and compassion you have shown with the passing of our son Wade. I have faced some difficult times in my life but none to compare to the past few days.
I knew I had a very special son but now I know just how special he really was. I thank My Lord and Savior Jesus Christ for giving me the strength and the comfort to carry on. I know many of you attended Wade’s wake and funeral. The director of Faith Chapel told me that this was the largest funeral he had seen in 14 years. There were at least 600 people and around 125 cars that followed us to grave side. My greatest comfort comes from knowing Wade was a “Born Again Christian” and had given his heart and soul to the Lord. I know I will see him again in that wonderful place we call Heaven! Tell the ones you love that you love them. You never know when it may be the last chance you get.
