Flood Advisory In Effect; Some Areas Receive 3-4 Inches Tonight

December 20, 2011

The National Weather Service in Mobile has issued an Urban and Small Stream Flood Advisory for central Escambia County in northwest Florida, including the Molino area, and western Santa Rosa County until 11:15 p.m.

National Weather Service Doppler radar indicated a series of showers and thunderstorms moving northeast over the advisory area. As much as 3 to 4 inches of rain has fallen over the past two hours in an axis extending from just northeast of Seminole Alabama, to Molino Florida, and northeast into north central Santa Rosa County.

Additional rainfall is developing just south of the Baldwin County coast and is moving northeast toward the area.

Excessive runoff from heavy rainfall will cause elevated levels on small creeks and streams and ponding of water on country roads and farmland along the banks of creeks and streams.
