Escambia Proceeds With Paving Shoulders On Crabtree Church Road

December 8, 2011

Escambia County has received a state grant to design paved shoulders along Crabtree Church Road between Highway 97 and Sunshine Hill Road in Molino.

The county will enter into an agreement with the Florida Department of Transportation for Transportation Enhancement Program funding of up to $138,824 to design the paved shoulders.

Now, Escambia County will advertise for engineering service proposals for the design of five-foot asphalt shoulders on the 2.5 mile segment of roadway.

It’s a shame they could not place those on 99A, where they are desperately needed. I guess this will be someones last fowpaw, or faux pas.

Did anyone notice the article says state ‘grant’? Can we all be happy for someone whatever the reason? Go to some meetings and get the scoop why it is done – put forth some effort yourself – ourselves – me too.

Merry Christmas (or is it Bah Humbug).

They should be working on the dirt part of Pine Barren Rd.

What a joke. That road is fine just like it is…You will find out soon with all the work on the north side of Sunshine and on this that Mr.White will be rewarded nicely within the next 3 years

    >>I don’t understand. Why pave the shoulder? Is it just for the Christmas parade?

It was identified by the state as a need. It has nothing to do with the Christmas parade; the parade photo just happened to be the first Crabtree Church Road pictured I could find that did not involved a wreck. Sorry for any confusion.

    William, I don’t understand.
    Why pave the shoulder?
Is it just for the Christmas parade?
In these tough economic times couldn’t Molino use this money better in other areas?
From Molino myself, I do have to wonder who has to live on Crabtree that gave a political contribution to Mr. White?
