Escambia County Bank Robbed

A Thursday morning bank robbery in Escambia County is under investigation.

Just after 11 a.m., the Escambia County Sheriff’s Office responded to a robbery at the Compass Bank at 6701 North Davis Highway.  A suspect entered the bank and demanded cash before fleeing the area. The suspect was described as an approximately 65-year old while male wearing a white or cream colored button-up shirt and dark dress slacks, He was last seen headed north away from the bank.

    THIS SOUNDS LIKE A HOMELESS PERSON. HE PROBABLY NEEDED A DRY BED AND SOME MONEY AND FIGURED THAT HE HAD NOTHING TO LOOSE. THERE IS A CAMP FOR THE HOMELESS JUST ABOUT .3 MLS NORTH OF THIS BANK NEAR THD I10 OVERPASS.

    My mother works at a bank. She was at work when the branch where she worked got robbed. Every time I hear of these, my heart skips a beat. Scary thing for those involved and their families.
