ECUA’s Recycling Program Sets Records

December 13, 2011

ECUA’s recycling program continues to grow and just recently set a new weekly record.

During the week of November 28, the ECUA Curbside Recycling Program collected a total of 262 tons of recyclable materials. According to Randy Rudd, ECUA acting deputy director of shared services, “This is the highest weekly total since the program’s inception in January 2009; and the program continues to evolve with tremendous success.”

ECUA’s recycling program debuted on January 5, 2009, as part of the regular residential sanitation service. Now, as the program nears its three-year anniversary, 44,857 customers, or 60% of ECUA’s sanitation customers are participating in the program.

For more information on the ECUA Recycling and Sanitation Programs, or to sign-up for the recycling program, visit the ECUA website at www.ecua.fl.gov or call (850) 476-0480.

Great NEWS!! And the result of hard work. The people responsible for the success of this program deserve the kudo’s and not the snide remarks on what you think of the company. Very proud of the recycling coordinator!!!

    REGARDING:
“Now ECUA is pulling in a huge profit from the program”

    Based on what?

    Not arguing, just asking

Remember how ECUA was telling us for about 10 years that it would never work… Now ECUA is pulling in a huge profit from the program…. Do we get a lower rate? Nope says ECUA… Just like the sewer improvement fee that’s tacked onto everyones bill to pay for the New Waste Water facility… Well, it’s built… Is the fee still on the bill… Sure is! In fact ECUA just raised the rates to do what? You got it, improve the sewer lines… Aren’t we already paying for that?

Please recycle! It is very easy. ECUA will provide you with a can and you simply chunk everything on the list into the can. You do not have to separate anything.
