Thank you North Escambia for posting this notice concerning the blood drive. I was able to drive from Brewton and make a donation in Flomaton. The advance notice is a big help.

    Michelle,
When you say things like “I guess they’re not that desperate.” it belittles a good cause. When the blood bank says there is a desperate need, I believe it. A proud 5 gallon donor myself.

O negative is the universal donor, if all blood types would fill up the bank we might not have such a need!! Yes, there are times when matching types is too slow of a process, but everyone should donate not just O negative people!!!!! SO DONATE!!!!

Wow… this is about a need and it is sad to know that people are making it about one person. Get over it people! If you are O- …please do your part, donate and save a life. You never know it could be someone in your family that needs the blood. It’s Christmas…spirit of giving and ALL :) I am A positive and donate whenever possible. For those of you whom may wonder. Be a blessing !!!

My point was they can see what the #’s are, but to faint for the copier, They could have wrote it in since they knew what they were. It is not an “Excuse”, My husband wants to do his part.

To Larry I don’t appreiciate you calling it an “EXCUSE” He wants to do his part. As Bratt said “those that have type O can depend on each other”. That’s why husband wanted to do his part.

My point was they could read it, but to faint to copy, It would have been easy just to write it in, since they knew what it was.

I hate to say this but this man needs to get a new SS card…giving blood will not be his only problem! Wait til he tries to renew his driver’s license (assuming he drives).
I am a A- bllod donor. It only takes a few minutes and can save someone’s life. Please donate blood if you can…it is something you can do for people that doesn’t cost money!

O-neg is very hard to find. They are in desperate need.

  9. Bratt, Florida resident on December 15th, 2011 3:21 pm

I’m O negative, will make a special point to be there to give on Friday. I better get busy eating my peanut butter tonight! ;)

Michelle, your husband might want to consider getting that SS card glitch resolved in case it presents other issues down the road for him! Besides, one never knows if and/or when something tragic will happen and if it does, it’s nice to know that those of us with O neg can depend on each other with helping out with this very important need. Thx

    Michelle,
Whatever. You can come up with any excuse you want, but that still doesn’t take away the critical need. Remember that when you or one of your loved ones need blood.

My husbant is type O negative. He tried to give blood, but was actually turned away because the last 2 # of his SS card were not clear enough to read. I guess they’re not that desperate. p.s. (they are readable but to faint to copy.)
