Cantonment Man One Of 48 Child Predators Busted In FDLE Operation

December 16, 2011

The Florida Department of Law Enforcement says a Cantonment man was among 48 child predators arrested as part of a six-month investigation dubbed Operation Amalgamate that was announced Thursday.

Gene Hamilton Brown, 50, was charged with three counts of child pornography, according to FDLE.

The FDLE investigation began in July after Attorney General Pam Bondi and FDLE merged the FDLE’s Computer Crime Center and the AG’s Child Predator Cybercrime Unit to more effectively investigate online child exploitation.

“The arrests in Operation Amalgamate show the strength of what has become one team with one goal – to find and arrest internet predators attempting to victimize our children,” said FDLE Commissioner Gerald Bailey.

Operation Amalgamate investigators found child sex predators in chat rooms, utilizing instant messaging, texting, dating sites, social networks and even online classified ads. FDLE agents in partnership with local law enforcement agencies arrested 48 suspects in 17 Florida counties.

“We are committed to protecting our children from cybercrimes, and I commend the law enforcement community for their continued dedication to stopping these criminals from exploiting our children,” Bondi said.

    >>Why are the other 47 people not being exposed? I am aware they are all from 17 different counties but there should be a list of names with pictures of each of the accused.

We report local news; therefore, we reported on the one local arrest.

Here’s a list of everyone arrested:

Great job by our law enforcement, I sincerely hope they keep up the good work.
Most parents do all they can to protect there children ,but sad as it is,the ones that want to exploit them are working just as hard to find ways to satisfy there sick desires.
I feel that if convicted a child molestor should be put away for life! After all, how can a child regain there innocence? That is taken away once and forever!!!

great job, now if there was place where we could drop these jerks off along with other criminals–murders and such, we wouldn’t have to pay for them to sit and watch tv etc, and let them have to watch and fight to survive everyday from the other jerks the world maybe a better place.

Cmon man, what in the world is wrong with you. Old enough to have grandchildren of that age. I just dont get it. What is the world coming to. The very reason i would never make any kind of political office is because once this guy was found guilty, he would go througb about 4 weeks of hardcore Marine training and shipped to Afghanistan with a 90 lb ruksak and a knife. If he managed to survive that then he has earned the priviledge of sleeping in prison but scrubbing our streets at day. But no, we will prosecute him and send him to prison to eat good, watch tv and study for a scholorship to use when he returns to the beat path in 7 yrs. What a shame for his wife, kids and gc. I hope he has none to spare them the humiliation.
