Two Charged With Stealing, Selling ‘61 Ford, ‘64 Mustang As Scrap

November 1, 2011

Two Century men are charged with stealing a 1961 Ford truck and a 1964 Ford Mustang from a home in Bratt and selling them as scrap.

The Escambia County Sheriff’s Office charged 32-year old Jessie James Tedder and Brandon Lee Lambeth, both of Century, with felony grand theft of a motor vehicle. Both were released from jail on $2,500 bond.

The victim reported that he planned to restore the two  classic vehicles that were in a state of disrepair when they were taken from a home in the 3600 block of West Highway 4. The victim told deputies that he found the remnants of the vehicles at Advanced Auto Recycling in Escambia County, Ala.

According to an Escambia County Sheriff’s Office arrest report, both Tedder and Lambeth admitted in writing to deputies that they took the vehicles from the victim’s property and sold them for scrap.

    REGARDING:
“I pray that god will judge each and everyone of you with the heartlessness and cruelty you sit here and persecute my brother with ”

I don’t know which one’s your brother but it seems at least one is accused of fooling the other into thinking their actions were legal. Maybe they’re both completely innocent and no theft actually occurred. Me not know.

Still, it’s interesting you are praying the Lord rain down fire and brimstone along with eternal damnation on those who condemned the concept of theft. Also interesting to claim that disagreeing with stealing is persecution. Mighty nonjudgmental of you.

Shame on them. But wait, saying shame on them might be persecution and here we go again.

    David contemplating condemnations

First off …What happened to inicient until proving guilty!!!!!!!!!!!!!! My brothers only real crime was trusting that people are good and the truth is everyone including all of you who sit here and judge with out knowing the real story which of course they are not gonna put on here cause that dont sell, have mean and cruel ways about you. But say what you will I pray that god will judge each and everyone of you with the heartless ness and cruelty you sit here and persicuet my brother with cause you dont know him…. but hes the kind of person who see someone broke down and helps with out pay or gives you his food so you wont be hungry. So you should look in the mirror and ask are we so perfect that we should play god. I know I am not!!!

We may never know the color of a mans heart, we can only judge him by his actions. I remember seeing those vehicles on the #4. They would just kind of catch your eye, as you drive by. To just drive onto someones property and steal two works of love. I think we need a shoot, to kill law. Expect to see more and more audacious crimes, against property and person, as the economy worsens.

To bugsgranny, do not presume to know that these men have ‘habits’ as u say. Unless you personally know someones situation, don’t automatically come to the conclusion that they’re into other bad things. I don’t condone what they did ans I know for a fact at least one of them was raised better, but don’t judge what u don’t know.

  6. tnt tedder on November 1st, 2011 10:27 pm

First off,,,,Jessie, you are giving the people with the last name Tedder sound bad or stupid,,,U were raised better than stealing…. The Two you of all people should know that an 1964 mustang is an classic an 1961 ford is an classic….You now are facing jail time or prison over fast money…JUST DUMB…..just saying what everybody else is thinking…..

  7. Bugsgranny on November 1st, 2011 9:35 pm

These young men knew this was wrong…wrong…wrong….it was not desperation to put food in the house or keep the power on…we all work to make sure we have these things…but they chose to steal from someone to feed their other habit or habits….I’m sure there is more than one.

You can’t fix stupid, but you can sue the scrapyard!

  9. jeff george on November 1st, 2011 6:23 pm

people should be at least be required to show proof they are the rightful owner before they can sell or transfer a vehicle……………………………

My condolences to the Tedder and Lambeth families. They are fine people and these boys/men were not raised this way. They knew they needed to ask for the old vehicles instead of stealing them. The junk yards are getting better at catching criminals these days, and that is great! And common sense is becoming more and more uncommon.

    CONCERNING:
“Alabama now requires you have to have the title in order to scrap a vehicle made after 1975. So a pre-1975 vehicle is still fair game.”

So where did my one-time-only deer-collider 1979 Datsun B210 station wagon go when it disappeared from my property on McBride Road if neither Alabama nor Florida would accept it as scrap? Come to think of it, I gave away a couple of other junkers and nobody sought the title then either.

Well, my, my, David H Green. I had that same thought. Miracles never cease. LOL :D

So for $250.00 they get to get out of jail. Just goes to show you there is no
justice anymore. These creeps should be sitting down there cooling their
jets in the jail house and have to wait for their sentence, now they will just
be out casing more of us to rob. They haven’t learned anything and they
    aren’t going to either.

    Thanks Judge!

2 very nice classic vehicles that will never see the road again. Those are super sweet rides to restore.

They probably got a couple hundred a piece for scrap… restored worth 10-15 grand each easy.

I feel bad for the victim, I’d be beside myself if my 67 Mustang fast back was scrapped when I had it.

  17. Darryl on November 1st, 2011 9:35 am

A 64 Mustang as scrap??!! Now that is criminal.

  18. Oversight on November 1st, 2011 6:13 am

Here’s your sign because you just can’t fix stupid! By the way, how much did these two knuckle heads get for the cars, 50 bucks each?
