Satsumas Available From Davisville Man’s Orchard

November 13, 2011

A local man was selling the fruits of his labor last week— satsumas from his orchard. Jimmie Davis sold the fruit from nearly 67 satsuma trees on Highway 97 in Davisville.

They are better than an orange, and they peel like a tangerine,” according to his daughter Karen Jay.

By Sunday, all of Davis’ satsumas were sold out.

I just bought some this afternoon from a nice young man at the corner of 29 and Muscogee. He has Red Navels and Satsumas. And the taste delicious!

Thank you all! The Satsuma’s were delicious, and unfortunately they are now gone. Next year there will be plenty more as the tree’s planted in addition to the ones he already had will produce as well! Thanks again!

Well, Now That’s what I like to see, our neighbors being supported by our local people. I have already called momma and told her about them. She does love her oranges. So I have my instructions for tomorrow. LOL Mr. Davis I will be over tomorrow as soon as Possible.

Keep up the good work William. You are apperciated even though sometimes it may seem you are not.

If you want some you best hurry. I picked up some today and the crop is running low. They are so sweet and not having seeds makes them even better. Thanks for getting them going again in the area.

Since he has that many, he might want to take some to sell at Palafox Market. Check it out at palafoxmarket.com. “Vendor space is free of charge and available to local farmers, home gardeners and artisans …”
