November 1, 2011
Last Saturday’s drug roundup at CVS stores across the county and the Sheriff’s Office precinct in Molino collected over 927 pounds of prescription and non-prescription drugs. Residents were invited to drop off their unused or unwanted pharmaceuticals during the event.
The Escambia County Sheriff’s Office held the collection in coordination with the Pensacola Police Department, the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) and other local agencies as part of a national take-back effort.

I agree with u about the personal infor ..at home we always take off the personal infor before we throw away the containers ,just good practice, Trust no one with your personal infor
Wonder what the “street value” was for these drugs if they had fallen into the wrong hands?
.
The medications are incinerated, and it is advisable to remove personal information listed on the label. Law enforcement officers were at each location making sure the dropped-off medications remained safely contained.
Just wondering, what do they do with all these drugs? I’m assuming they destroy them, but how?
I can’t believe all these people left the labels with their names and addresses on the prescriptions. I would have been concerned about my privacy and/or safety.
