Poarch Man Pleads Guilty In Child Sex Abuse Case

An Escambia County, Ala., man pleaded guilty in federal court Tuesday to charges that he sexually abused three young boys.
Dustin O. Raybon of Poarch entered the plea, ending his ongoing trial for sexual contact with a child younger than 12. The boys, which were Raybon’s relatives, were reportedly abused in 2003 on the Poarch Creek Indian Reservation near Atmore.
Raybon’s plea came under an agreement with prosecutors to recommend a light sentence of less than three years and registration as sex offender for the abuse of a 3-year old. Another boy, now 13, testified that he was sexually abused by Raybon when he was 5 or 6. Another male victim, age 8, testified that Raybon engaged him in oral sex in April 2011.

You feel he pled guilty bc he was scared… So if you were charged with molesting an innocent child; would you plead guilty for a light sentence? You think an innocent man would allow himself to be labeled a pedophile? Really? That’s ridiculous. This is not about Indians. Not about other people who have gotten away with rape before.. Not about you being abused.. This is about the victims of this sicko… Those poor little boys will re-live what he did to them over and over!… It’s a sad sad story… But what is more tragic is that he will be out in no time..and will do it again. You can’t fix that kind of sickness. What are you trying to justify here? The way I see it is he got off easy…

Are you kidding me?
Being a victim myself, why don’t you tell me what type of evidence you find on someone who has been molested? This is the problem with our so called justice system. When children (or adults) are molested-there is no proof. But in this case, as in my own case, there are several victims-somebody should be able to see the truth. But instead this is what happens most of the time, the prosecutor wants to make a name for himself so he offers a plea so that this piece of trash either gets a very light sentence or probation (thus no “Not Guilty” verdict against him). This is why most them re-offend and re-offend. Most child molesters who take the plea are not even made to register as a sex offender.
If this young man was raped/molested when he was young someone should have reported it and got him some help. But he is old enough now to know the difference between right and wrong, so thats not an excuse! The cycle never ends until someone breaks it…it should have been him. So, I have no pity for this man. I have no pity for any child molester who ruins childrens lives. He should rot in prison with the rest of the trash that is there. Hope he shares a cell with “Bubba”!
As for my case, you can bet when it comes to the “light sentence” he will receive, I’ll be sure to send the information to WIlliam to print here so you all can see how great our justice system is and how they let these dispicable people back on the streets over and over!!!
Oh & yes I am CONGRATULATING all the trained officials n this case OUTSTANDING JOB…u got him before he could get to another young boy!!!!
As a sovereign nation, even though under U.S. occupation, the Creek Nation should handle this matter in THEIR courts, with THEIR jury and judge.

Native Americans were sexually abused 20-30 years ago, so he shouldn’t be made a spectacle of? I was sexually abused 10 years ago, so it’s okay for me to mess with kids? That is a sick and twisted way of thinking. He knew it was wrong. And if he had those tendencies because of something that happened to him, he should have recognized he needed to seek help. BTW, if anyone knew this was happening, they’re an accesory. Try defending a molestor when you’re being dragged down for standing up for actions you KNOW are wrong, regardless of the reason they were done.

So he pleads GUILTY (not ‘no contest’), he’s been abusing little kids on multiple occasions since at least 2003 and probably up until 2011 and he gets a light sentence. He may have started before 2003…

gee whiz…im sure that there are several reasons (not mentioned) as to why he recieved a “light sentence”…..i just wish that there was a way of avoiding such a lenient “band-aid” of a sentence….raybon looks young himself- no age was provided…..hell get out in less than 3 yrs probably……so, he registers as a sex offender/preditor when he gets out…big deal….i just feel very sorry for his current child victims and the future victims that are sure to come…Lord help us all.

Is a year really fair I mean think about those poor boys who will have to live with this for the next 50 years or more! I am becoming more and more disappointed with our world and the law system. I think we should bring back the eye for an eye method of taking care of things….
