Thanks to everyone for your prayers , calls, messages & well wishes for Melissa. I want to say thank you to the many NHS staff members ( especially Chief Simpkins, Captain Code & Mrs Crum) who stopped & assisted Melissa until the emergency responders , her Dad & I could get there. Thanks to all of the emergency responders & staff at Atmore Hospital for being so kind to Melissa . For the amazing damage done to the car, my daughter came out shaken & bruised but fine. To anyone who may doubt, Jesus & seat belts save lives. Now – how bout them Chiefs Friday night?

I so agree with too many accidents happening on pine barron rd as well as hwy 4, way too many accidents ! I am thankfull this young girl is ok, its going to take a tragedy before they take any action around here.

429SCJ- boy I have heard it all now. There is nothing out of the ordinary causing accidents on Pine Barren any more than the next road. Its called human beings driving cars. Human beings having ACCIDENTS mainly due to what we do. Occasionally there will be things we have no control over- animals in roadway, tire blowout, etc. Its called life accidents are going to happen, we do not need road closures and surveys to tell us what common sense can. Glad the young lady is ok.

Thank the Lord this young lady is all right. It appears Pine Barren Road is an excellent enviroment for automotive accidents. If I were Kevin White I would close that road, and request a US Geographical Survey team conduct a study of that area, to include satillite surveys. There is something causing these accidents, an anomaly or common denominator if you like. If common sense fails, there is always science to fall back on.

she is out of the hospital and doing fine other than a little banged up and sore. People who dont think selt belts save lives…they are wrong if she hadnt of had on her seat belt this story would have ended differently. I am very glad that she is ok. :)
