There was a county cop working traffic near the Davisville Community center just this morning. They do stop people on 97. They just cant be there 24-7.
Every time we travel this road we do the speed limit. And yes people pass u like u are sitting still. Never see any State Troopers or County Cops on this road. You would think with the amout of accidents that happen on this hwy that law enforcement would make it a priorty. Like the poster above suggested put some unmarked cars out there and have a ball. Thay could make enough in speeding fines to get FL out of debt.
I tend to get stuck behind 8-12 cars going 40-45mph rather than get passed on that road. Stop going at such drastically slow speeds and you will have a much smaller percentage of people trying to pass! When the sign says 55 it IS ok to drive 55!
I drive Hwy -97 between Atmore and Hwy -29 often and it never fails: Driving at the speed limit, I get passed many times on every trip. I get passed in no passing zones almost always. Some of these drivers are going way over the speed limit.
I drive a pick-up truck, not a marked police vehicle………
Now if we could trade in the medals some of our enforcement officers wear for an unmarked pick-up, old or new, to patrol Hwy-97, maybe it would slow some of these people down?
this area either needs more patrol or cameras to catch these people…this is absolutely RIDICULOUS for people to drive this way…your going to kill yourselves or others
It ain’t the road, it is the idiots behind the wheel.
Is there any road in the county, that has has as many accidents as Hwy 97? What is it about that road?
I am glad no one was killed. Excessive speed, would have made this much worse.
I saw this accident and it looked pretty bad. So thankful to know no one was seriously hurt. I was def trying to figure out how the world it happened. Awkward location.
