Alot of people give thanks to God everyday but I have never heard of Thanksgiving as a religious holiday. It’s more about giving thanks for the things we have in our lives…
429, Thanksgiving ‘was’ a day to give thanks to the bountiful harvest and the blessings of the previous year… not so much to say thanks to the Lord. I mean, you can look at it that way but it’s origins were less religious than you are making it out to be. Not all holidays are religious in context. Just saying…
I hope none of those others, complain about public institutions, being closed a day, for which we give thanks to our Lord. Maybe they can find something to occupy their minds.
