Groundbreaking Scheduled For New Molino Library, Community Center

A groundbreaking has been scheduled for the a new community center and library in Molino.

The Molino Community Center ribbon cutting will be held at 11:30 a.m. Monday at the old Molino School at 6450 Highway 95A.

The project includes the conversion of the old Molino School into a 15,600 square foot library, community center and museum.  In addition to converting the old school building,new 7,000 square foot building will be constructed adjacent to the old building for the tax collector and property appraiser. The current Escambia County Tax Collector office in the former Winn Dixie shopping center in Cantonment and the property appraiser office on Highway 97 in Molino will both be closed..  This facility will also house a polling station for early voting and elections.

The public is invited to attend the groundbreaking ceremony.

    Amendment for modification of contract, to include one walking path, with benchs.

    A well lit walking path would be great but at this point we would really have to rally to get them to change any plans.

    I am so excited about this new library and community center! I would also like to add my request for a “walking path” that is well lit so those of us who like to walk will have a safe place to do so!
