County Leaders Hold Walnut Hill Town Hall Meeting
November 2, 2011
Escambia County leaders held a town hall meeting Tuesday night in Walnut Hill to give citizens a chance to speak out about county services.
A few dozen area residents attended the meeting at the Walnut Hill Community Center, providing their input and asking questions of panel that included Escambia County District 5 Commissioner Kevin White, Escambia County Sheriff David Morgan and Escambia County Administrator Randy Oliver.
Many of the residents that addressed the panel expressed concerns over various dirt roads that they would like to see paved, along with concerns about county finances, potential county-city consolidation and county projects like the upcoming community center and library in the works for Molino.
Morgan also heard concerns about crime — mostly speeding and property thefts — from the crowd.

I LIKE AND FULLY SUPPORT SHERIFF MORGAN AND COMMISSIONER WHITE. I THINK OUR END OF THE COUNTY IS BETTER OFF NOW THAN A FEW YEARS AGO. AND AS FAR AS THE FACIAL EXPRESSIONS IN THE PHOTO , I GUESS NONE OF YA’LL HAVE EVER BEEN TIRED AFTER A DAY AT WORK. GEEZ, PEOPLE REALLY NEED TO TAKE A LOOK AROUND THIER OWN LIVES BEFORE CONSTANTLY COMPLAINING ABOUT SOMEONE ELSE. THEY BOTH HAVE A TOUGH JOB TO DO IN THESE TOUGH ECONOMIC TIMES. BUT I SUPPOSE AS LONG ****YOUR****PROJECT OR IDEA GETS DONE IT’S ALL FINE AND DANDY.LOOK AT HOW MANY PEOPLE WE HAVE IN OUR DISTRICT NOW, AND NOW THINK OF HOW MANY PHONE CALLS THAT IS EVERYDAY. THINK YOU COULD DO ANY BETTER? THE ELECTIONS ARE OPEN TO ALL COMERS. MAYBE WE SHOULD WORK TOGETHER AND TRY TO GET MORE THINGSDONE OF US ALL INSTEAD OF ALL THE FUSSING AND NAME CALLING. THINK ABOUT IT.
For myself i respect the office of the county Commissioner. But the person in there at this time i have no respect for. Mr. White and Mr Morgan only show up in the north end when there faces can get in the paper or on the news. Mr Morgan looks like he was some where else and just needs to show his face and everthing will be alright. I hope they do not make a election thing out of a Patriot dedication at the Bratt Park.
Who said thoughtful lol. He doesn’t look thoughtful, he has that look of the
zone out. You know, we have all had them….your eyes glaze over and you
have just gone into a trance and zoned out. A little bored are we Sheriff? We sure didn’t mean to bore you with all our tales of roberies and crimes at our homes up here on the north end.
Kathy: And then you woke up.
Kevin White is a good man, I hate voting for republicans but I will vote for him, he gets things done. Maybe if you approached him with some respect you woul dget a positive response.
REGARDING:
“Morgans’ expression in the pics pretty much sums up his feelings for the entire northend”
AND
“That look he has on his face speaks for itself.”
He’s looking thoughtful. Of course, we see what we look for in others, though.
Thoughtful is good.
David for perfect law enforcement on others
Why does Morgan only have 4 Property Crimes Investigators? Those crimes have always been the lead crime of all the others. Does he really know just how many he has? That look he has on his face speaks for itself. I really don’t want to be here and I really don’t care what you people have to say. Does that sum it up??
fire kevin white he is useless
Morgans’ expression in the pics pretty much sums up his feelings for the entire northend, after he got elected, that is. More officers up here……bla bla bla…… I’m sorry I voted for him.
Missed the meeting , what where the commits on city/county consolidation? Good or bad? and are we going to have to go thru this again?
REGARDING:
“Morgan also heard concerns about crime — mostly speeding and property thefts — from the crowd.”
That seems appropriate. ‘Twould be silly to gripe to him about dirt roads and underweight rated bridges
