Church Offers Food Help With ‘One Harvest’ Program

North Escambia residents can order a “family box” of food through program offered by a local church and save about half the cost of retail.

Allen Memorial United Methodist Church has teamed up with One Harvest Food Ministries for the program. The order deadline is Friday, November 11 with food pickup on Saturday, November 19. A $35 “Family Box” includes:

2.5 lb Avg Split Chicken Breasts (bone in)

  • 5 lb Avg Chicken Leg Quarters (bone in)
  • 1 1/2 lbs Meat Loaf Patties
  • 1 lb USDA Inspected Ground Beef
  • 1.5 lb Breaded Chicken Tenders
  • 1 lb Ground Chicken
  • 12 oz Chicken Breakfast Sausage
  • 2 lb Fresh Frozen Waffle Fries
  • 1 lb Fresh Frozen Cut Green Beans
  • 1 lb Fresh Frozen Cut Yellow Corn
  • 1 lb Fresh Frozen Field Peas with Snaps
  • 1 lb Fresh Frozen Sliced Carrots
  • 1 lb Long Grain Brown Rice
  • 1 Box Stuffing Mix

    This is absolutely wonderful…however, I would really like to know how many people will actually take advantage of this program because there is a cost involved…after all, in our society many are still holding out for the FREE handout!

    Oh I’m so glad to see this church participating in another type program like the Angel Food Ministries. I was sad to see that go…….glad to see something return.
