Woman That Tossed Her Dead Toddler In Trash Can Gets 15 Years

An Escambia County woman that tossed her dead toddler into a trash can and left her other two children home alone while she reported them missing has been sentenced to 15 years in prison.
Christian Rochelle Woods, 23, received the 15-year prison sentence and 30 years probation Monday afternoon on an aggravated manslaughter charged.
Woods left her two children, ages 18-months and two years, home alone for two days in a home with no power or water. The children were left with only a few cups of Jello to eat.
Authorities said that the little girl who was found dead in a trashcan, Myleahya Woods (pictured left), weighed just 11 pounds. Prosecutors say she starved to death. The other two children found in the home, Myleahya ’s twin sister, Mykayhala (pictured right) and Jaterius Woods, 2, were also severely malnourished. When deputies found Mykayhala under a bed in the filthy Escambia County home, she was in a coma. Escambia County Sheriff David Morgan said deputies first thought Mykayhala was dead until her eyes fluttered.
Woods called deputies to report that her children were missing. But deputies became suspicious. They found Jaterius and arrested Woods on child neglect charges because he showed what they said was obvious signs of abuse. About 12 hours after her arrest, Woods admitted that Myleahya was dead in a trashcan on the back porch of her home.
Prosecutors said Woods’ family members had no idea what was going on with the children, and that she never asked for help.

This makes me sick…I just don’t understand this world anymore!! You can shoot a stranger on the street and get life but kill your own child and get 15 years..makes no sense to me!

I read all of these comments and think really most people would look down on these children because their mom gets some kind of state aid. people also act like they care. This whole thing makes me so so sick we as people have forgot who we are or have been in the past as for people thinking these children never had a chance well they did its just that to many people rather turn their noise up or well look down on them and their mother. As for the legal it just goes to show we rather send pot smokers weed growers to prison for extreme time but only give child killers 15 years..
Instead of us using our energy posting on message boards, lets put that energy to actively working to help children in need. It can be a small something. I can’t be a guardian ad litem because I would bring ever child I advocated for, home with me….sign petitions to your lawmakers, write letters to the editor of your local newspaper, I have bought shoes or jackets for kids that I saw needed them, regardless of the parents status. I am vigilant re signs of abuse. I have bought treats for kids at the grocery checkout that obviously didn’t get many extras. I wanted them to know there were nice people in the world, people that cared about them. i also tell them that not all strangers can be trusted. It is little I do but, I try, however I can.

Wow! I wish I could have rescued these kids from such abuse! I have had custody of my ex friends daughter for six years because of abuse. I don’t get it! My daughter died at birth in june, I wouldn’t dare allow it to enter my mind to abuse her or my friends daughter that I am raising. This is awful.
The sad part is that this worthless woman more than likely was getting food stamps among other assistance…..and still did this to her children. Then to only get 15 years is ridiculous and injustice to the children.
I so agree with EVERETT 110%…..give her only jello for 15 years with no power and water….instead she will get 3 meals a day with power, water, and a place to lay her worthless head.
this is so sad i really hate seeing things like this in the news. it is very hard for me to have children medical wise but i am doing everything i can so i can be a mom and for young girls to keep having them and not having a care at all about what they do to their child it just makes me sick. i just want to cry everytime i see this i would love to just find women like that and say give me your child i will love the baby and care for the baby like a mother should and you would never have to worry about that baby again
I CAN NOT BELIEVE ALL THIS WOMAN GOT WAS 15 YRS FOR KILLING HER CHILDREN, I CAN NOT BEGIN TO IMAGINE THIS HAPPENING TO A CHILD. IT IS VERY SICK, OBVIOUSLY SHE IS SICK AND SHOULD BE KEPT FROM SOCIETY, THERE IS NOT HELP FOR SOMEONE LIKE THIS EXCEPT A MIRACLE FROM GOD WHOM THIS LADY WILL HAVE TO FACE ALONG WITH THE REST OF US SOMEDAY. This is more than sad, it is heart breaking and it made me cry. She has to be on drugs or is nuts.
I certainly hope they don’t feed her in prison, that is the most any of us can
hope for, that way she will never get out.
REGARDING:

They have them because they do the things which lead to pregnancy and decide to carry to term.
They do the things which lead to pregnancy for a number of reasons: pleasure, money, force, social pressure, a way to get out of the house, sometimes even because their mothers encourage it. (I knew one girl who thought sex was part of every date she had. Those who didn’t want sexually transmitted diseases needed to avoid her.)
They continue for the same reason they started. Nor do such tend to worry about who will take care of the children, believing someone will do the job or as in the case above, not seeming to care if it is done at all.
Regrettably — for the other half of the equation — there are also plenty of males who don’t care who they might father a child off of, not caring what will happen to the child if conceived, not intending to support their own sons and daughters.
And, of course, some people are just crazy.

YES my jaw dropped after hearing all she got 16 YRS!!!! they should do LIFE but since that didnt happen…here’s 1…..when she gets out & goes on her 30 yrs of probation…she should not be around ANY children & You know..they should pass a law that makes CHILD ABUSERS do the same thing as if there would have been sexual abuse..register & have them put on a list available to the public!!
OMG! This is one of the most horrible stories I have ever heard! Aggravated manslaughter? Why not first degree murder? This woman should have no less than life. These surviving children are scarred for life because of her! And I have to agree with an earlier comment-how could the family not know this was going on? These children were close to death from starvation, how does someone not see this. I guess we all assume the family was seeing these children, but maybe not. All families are not the tight knit families like our own. This is just so tragic. Why do women (girls) continue to have children when they won’t or can’t take care of them? As stated she received food stamps so she had the means to feed them but did not because she was selling the food stamps instead. I’m am just so sick over this. We as a society MUST start paying attention to our neighbors children, our siblings children and such. If you suspect something not right going on REPORT IT!!! This one poor baby may have survived if someone would have noticed what was going on! RIP lil angel!
WHAT? Only 15 years for starving her children? Excuse me, but, if that had been animals,, she would get 30 years or life…..Where is justice when justice is needed..and sometimes to harsh for others….Isn’t this murder in the 1st and disposing of the baby’s body in that way. SICK

I’m with you Everett! My heart hurts for these poor children that didn’t ask to come into this world.The first thing they need to do is spay her when she gets there. She doesn’t deserve to live in society.
I strongly agree with you Everett. But the jello should have to be shared with two other inmates. And what the heck was she doing for two days to leave these babies alone. Oh, Im sure she was out looking for work. Probably out makin another baby. That other rag said she told investigators she had sold her food stamps to friends for cash. And what I don’t understand is HOW the family couldn’t know. I don’t mean to judge, but it just baffles me how this could happen and no one did anything. No contact with family or what. Its just crazy.
Horrible. Hopefully Ms. Woods will not do any more reproducing, after she is released. Hopefully her surviving children will have a chance for a better life. Let us Pray.
Put her in cell with no power and water. Give her a cup of Jello everyday for 15 years. After all that is what she did to her children.
